Mattel Hot Wheels Batman 1:50 scale vehicles

I heard something about these in another thread, but I found three of them this weekend, and they are very nice. 66 TV series Batmobile, 66 TV series Batcycle, and the BTAS Batmobile. I am particularly fond of the Batcylce. The Robin go-cart even detaches! For the quality, the price isn't bad at around $7 a pop. There is a lot of paint applications and detailing, esp. on the 60s models. The BTAS design is well done, but hte simplier, animated look makes it look a bit underwhemling compared to the others. Apparantly the Tumbler from Batman Begins/Dark Knight and a modern comic Batmobile are also available.

My only gripe is these are close but not quite the same scale as the Corgi cars from a few years back. Although the Batcycle may be, since it is actually bigger than 1:50.

Oh, I found these at Wal-Mart by the way on a "sidekick" hanging display.

I was actually looking for these at Wally's on Saturday in the Hot Wheels aisle...didn't find them. Then my daughter came up to me with 2 in hand ('66 Batmobile and Cycle)... they were indeed on a hanging display in an obscure location. I went over to it and grabbed the BTAS Batmobile as well. The display looked like it had been hit pretty hard already.

Hi Can any of you guys who picked these up do me a favor?

I work at Walmart and haven't seen these come in yet. Could you please post or PM me the UPC codes so I can look up when they are coming or what local store has them.

I'm trying to hunt some down for Spaceace.

      Thanks.

Man, I just found the 1:24 66 Batmobile the other day and now I have 2 other things to lookout for. Thanks for the heads-up. The 66 vehicles are a must.

I haven't seen the 1:24 one yet, or the 1:18 (or are they the same thing?). All of this seems to be hitting at once after a long drought after the 1:64 model showed up.

I found it at TRU. They had 2 at the time. I think it's 1:24. I still buy the regular HW 66 Batmobile if I see it. I just can't seem to leave them on the pegs. I'll have to hit Wal-mart asap and take a look. But we seem to always be behind in getting stuff like this.

So I'm not the only one that does this! It's almost become like a game to me.

Thanks for the heads up, I've been looking for these for awhile now. Found them hanging on the side of an end cap, in one of those cardboard shipper display things, in the game section.

I guess because Mattel made a neat hanging display for them? The old Bat-logo caught me eye, otherwise I would have missed them. The were hanging on the corner of the aisle with the RC cars and other non-Mattel die-cast cars, one aisle away from the Hot Wheels.

Nope, not at all. Surprisingly I've only found one on a small card.

Well, I couldn't stand it and went during lunch. Nothing. But I have 3 other Wal-marts I can check over the next few days.

I picked up the batcycle at TRU today. The only other vehicle they still had on the pegs was the Animated Batmobile. Since the smaller hot wheels batmobiles were hard to find at first, but are now everywhere, I'm hoping the same holds out for this line, and I can soon find a tv Batmobile in this new series?!

That is the same thing that I think sometimes about the stuff being scattered around the stores. The first answer that comes to mind is that would make too much sense. Actually, I really know why they do it. It is all about marketing strategy and it works.
