You lost me - where does it say they're 8"? There have been plenty of other scales over the years, but still no 1/9th from what I can tell. Rey is just over ten inches and Kylo Ren is around 11" according to one report.

The closest scale I've ever seen for SW was 1:8 and even that was too small to customize. I swear they avoid 1:9 on purpose.
Some Japanese company put out a Mego-esque Boba Fett and Darth Vader. I have Boba but if you look at him too closely his accessories fall off.

I almost bought that Fett but after all the bad reviews I decided against it. It looks OK in pics.

I saw Ren, he's just a tad under 1/6th scale, kind of quasi Mego scale if you just accept that anything under 12 inches and has some cloth elements is a Mego style figure.

Agreed. It does look pretty darn nice but you made the smart move but passing on it.
If you don't mind customizing one MM member sold a Stormtrooper kit. I turned mine into a Luke in Stormtrooper disguise.

I ordered Vader and Leia online with a holiday discount they haven't arrived yet but I did run to the store to buy Rey and Ren. Nice toys especially for Mego collectors etc.
