Imaginext Killing Joke Joker

I'm not sure how I feel about this. It's a neat nod for geeks, but it's such an icky moment that history is starting to look at with different eyes than 30 years ago, and I'm not sure it needs a nod in a kid's line. An adult action figure collectible, like the recent DC Collectibles Arkham Knight figure with this look doesn't bother me.

Technically I guess every Joker figure marketed to children is kind of inappropriate as he's been murdering people wholesale since the 1930s but this is probably a callback that shouldn't happen in a pre-school line.
Kids won't get it and it's quite harmless but ewwww.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

^Agreed. The Universal Monsters have been killing people since 1925, and have had toys since the early 60s. But this is a very specific look for the Joker, and it involves the maiming and torturing of a beloved female character (who is also in that line). The dad in me says the pre-school line should steer clear of things like this.

Not a good idea, but it will go right over my kids' heads. I love the longevity of the line, and we literally have totes full of vehicles and multiple Batvillains. This won't make the cut.Comment

This figure is strictly for--and potentially offensive to--the "fanboys". Particularly since the beach togs have zilch to do with the vehicle. Will toddlers be traumatized--no. But I've a feeling media attention will cause this to blow up in F-P's face. Speaking for myself, I've collected the line since Day 1 and will buy this, too. It's no more problematic to me than Imaginext Bane. But I wish Imaginext would focus on completing the Legion of Doom than another Joker of whatever design.Last edited by PNGwynne; Nov 1, '16, 5:20 PM.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

^I guess Bane and Doomsday are pretty brutal characters as well, and I honestly didn't blink when I saw them. If they made Mr. Zsaz (or however you spell that), then that would trip my Daddy Sense. It's all sorts of double standards going on.
I wouldn't boycott this or anything, but if I were picking up all of these, I'd feel a bit weird about it, honestly.

You make a good point about double-standards, and yes, there would be no way to spin/buffer a character like Zsaz.
Looks to be a great original Joker-vehicle, though.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I'm gobsmacked at how much space these at take to store, and I'm no completest. I've dreamed of a display, too--but some of the playsets (though verrry cool) are huge. The cityscape and new Wayne Foundation/Daily Planet come to mind.
Fingers crossed, though for a Paradise Island cross-sell when the Wonder Woman film debuts. They similarly accommodated Man of Steel.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Yes, but it's not like this comes with a shotgun, Babs Gordon, and wheelchair, either.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment
