My latest model...Creature from the Black Lagoon

Here's a WIP of my latest model...the super deformed Creature from Lambert Artworks.

I came across a collection of LIFE magazine photos from a 1954 article which feature the only color photos of the Creature that exist. Yes, those lips are red!

So I based my color scheme off those photos as closely as I could...the photos looked a bit faded and on the reddish side so I adjusted my paints accordingly. The lips are actually a reddish copper color...but the entire suit is a deep green with iridescent green, gold, copper, and blue highlights.

I still need to go over the entire thing and pick out the fine details...paint the claws etc. and of course apply a generous gloss coat. The base is the deck of the RITA, complete with railing and real rope.

That's a lot of crazy awesome cool right there, any chance of seeing other Universal Monsters in the future?
after all Halloween is quickly approaching.

Update! Here he is after several applications of iridescent glazes...all the colors are subtly blending together.
