    My Quantum Mechanix Spock Arrived!

All I can say is WOW.

Hot Toys has some competition. This figure is INCREDIBLE. The sculpt and paint are amazing. Just as good as HT in my opinion, and I've owned a dozen HT figures.

    So what makes these better?

    1. The body. Feels much sturdier than a HT body...no fear I was going to snap something with every pose. The joints are tight and the figure holds a pose well. The 11 different hands swap super easily with no fear of breakage.
    2. The outfit. Much closer to scale. They used some type of micro textile for the shirt...it matches the screen uniform in color and cut perfectly and instead of the usual iron on, the Starfleet insignia is actually embroidered on the shirt.
    3. The boots. No molded plastic here. The boots are real, stitched leather complete with zippers and soles. They are perfectly in scale and look 100% real.
    4. The accessories. The communicator, phaser, and tricorder all match the screen used props in both appearance and function. The communicator features a flip up laser etched metal grille that is 18K gold plated. The type 1 phaser is removable from the type 2 phaser. The tricorder opens and features a real leather strap. The accessories all attach magnetically to either the season 1 sash/belt or the pants at the hip.

The bonus accessory for this exclusive version is the Vulcan Lyre. It may actually be made of real wood...I can't tell, so if it's plastic, it's an amazing job. It even has micro strings that are really strung, and they included an extra set of hands designed to play it.

SDCC revealed that many more are coming. McCoy, Sulu, Scotty, Chris Pine Kirk, TWOK Kirk and Spock, Picard, Data, and Worf. These are the Trek figures I've dreamed of owning my entire life.

I saw some SDCC pictures of these and they didn't look as good as the Crawford review pics. Must have been bad lighting. Glad you like them.
    Fresh, not from concentrate.

My Exclusive Spock arrived yesterday, but I'm waiting for the Ex Kirk to arrive tomorrow before opening them. Can't wait!

Mine arrived Saturday. I agree with all of this, it's a great figure, the one I've waited for my whole life. I have better Hot Toys, but I also have worse, so this effort is certainly right in that echelon. My only gripe is the magnets on the phaser and communicator really aren't strong enough to hold the items to the belt or pants very well. The do remain there, but they fall off too easily. The hairline isn't quite as crisp as I've seen on Hot Toys, but I'm really digging for something to gripe about. It's a great figure. Kirk arrived yesterday, and I'm looking forward to opening him up tonight.

The prototypes revealed didn't look as good from the fuzzy picture I saw, but I'm optimistic. Did they show the TWOK Kirk and Spock or just announce them? If they showed them, does anyone have a link?

Toyark.com has photos of all the figures. Yes, they did show TWOK figures. Heads were unpainted on those two but the uniforms are gorgeous. Data is just all kinds of awesome.

Thanks for the tip. I also found them on Michael Crawford's site http://www.mwctoys.com/sdcc2016/sdcc2016-qmx.htm

The WoK uniforms do look terrific. The Spock, while unpainted looks very promising and Kirk isn't far off, either. There goes another $400...

Con lighting is invariably awful. Lots of downward lights, mixed sources, lots of glare and shadows - it's a nightmare to shoot. Spock and Kirk haven't changed

The Scotty and Bones figures look pretty great. The head sculpts look spot on to me.

No need to waste a lot of time perfecting Pine's likeness... when everyone is going to buy the Shatner version...

Can anyone post some photos of their Spock figure?

I read on the Sideshow Freaks board that the sculpt shown at SDCC was just a rushed "placeholder", and an improved likeness would be sculpted.

There's a whole thread of pics already far better than any I could take.

Upon seeing this review I immediately ordered both of these. After 40+ years someone finally nailed William Shatner's likeness perfectly. http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-062716a.htm
