Soooooooooooo... What is the fate of Captain Action's Ultraman outfit?

Just wondering if the Ultraman costume set is fading into oblivion like the majority of Captain Action 1/6th scale announcements of recent years or if this thing will see the light of day outside of maybe the five sets they'll have available at SDCC? I bet they'll play a little promotional semantics with that and call it a "complete sell out". And what happen to the up-scaled Captain Action figure they were in partnership to make with Gohero? As usual their social page is sparse on information.

It looks like a secondary market item only since you can't get Medicom to ship outside of Japan. I've seen at least one set on eBay and could buy it via other secondary means, but it's too pricey IMO.

Regarding Go Hero, there's been no updates on that at all for quite a while, so I have to assume no news means no figure, but that's an assumption.

I just found it through my buying service, it's almost 1,400 yen or $135 USD. I'm tempted but by the time I get it here, it will cost as much as MIB vintage Mego.

However, if anybody still wants it shipped your door, I can totally show you how to get it through my buying service.

Wowzers... Yeah that's an easy pass. I appreciate the information though! Too bad they couldn't get a bigger production for this item especially since so much 50th anniversary Ultraman merchandise is enjoying a enthusiastic response from consumers.

I found it around that as well, and it's just too high unfortunately. Same thing, I'd prefer to buy vintage.

(14,000 yen). That's pretty close to the retail price in the japanese ads of in and around 13,500 yen.

That's because it's from the Medicom yahoo store.

I thought this was to be distributed into the States by Diamond. I dream that up, or did it fall through?

That price is about par for the course for Medicom, their product ain't cheap. They were the first company to charge high retail prices for 12" figures, long before Sideshow or Hot Toys even existed.

Trust me when I say you are NOT alone. My biggest complaint with this company has not been so much their inability to make product but the outright revisionist cover up they go through when these inspirations collapse. Half the projects they announce simply fade into oblivion without the slightest explanation. The other half take so long to find a manufacturer, the demand dries up when they finally get something to market. But even more than that, CAE places WAAAAY too much emphasis on this bizarre corporate presentation guided by some warped notion they should behave like a publicly traded company instead of the small, out-of-the basement operation they truly are. They've spent so much time making erroneous and often grandiose announcements about licensing they never secured to publicly low balling their business partners when sales went soft, it's no mystery why they remain mostly an entity that just celebrates properties made by other companies (40 years ago) on their social page.

Captain Action has from day one always been about playing host to a slew of licensed hero outfits. Every single effort to make him shine as an entity by himself have failed miserably. But even under the most ideal of conditions, the concept has no real future outside of pandering to the collector base, which is what the Mego market is essentially built on. You're not seeing Mego figures or dress up CA figures in brick and mortar franchises because retailers have been burned too much with unsold product. The Captain belongs to his fans that have celebrated his creation for 50 years. Create and sale based on those estimates and you have a sustainable business. This idea that CAE wants to make the Captain the next hula hoop isn't going to happen. Everything about him from his name to his costume are as dated as a hero can be. He makes the Lone Ranger look mainstream. The license holders don't understand that so it's doubtful we'll ever see the 1/6th scale line again unless they give it up to someone who has the correct vision and funding to make this happen.
