A Collection of Toy Skeletons (blogspot)

Do you like toy skeletons? Oh yes you do!

Just a few days ago, I received my order of Boss Fight Studio skeletons. In case you'd never heard of them, go to to their website and studio store and check out the first of their figures. You can re-create Harryhausen in 4" scale! Right now the Greek mythology wave is for sale, and they're shipping now. You can get Gorgons, Greek soldiers and heroes and... skeletons. All amazingly articulated.

I folded my BFS skeleton review into a larger article about my collection of toy skeletons. I buy the ones between 4" and 6"... I try for a consistency in scale with my Spooky Kookys.

    Very cool collection.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Interesting. I have a pack of about 30 skeletons I got at the local Halloween store. They are 3 1/4 inch tall and rubber like material, and are either all white or charred black. They are the only skeletons I have found so far for 1/18 scale. I am currently painting 1 glow in the dark as an experiment.

Pretty neat! I truly think back to those Harryhausen Sinbad scenes

          Love the Harryhausen style ones!
          Well, all of them, actually...

I had several of those bendy ones as a kid...

I think I know which ones you're talking about. I saw something like that last year... bag of little skeletons for about $3.99 or $4.99? I was considering, but the difference between a 3.25" skeleton and a 4" skeleton (small scales) is considerable. Instead of looking like formidable opponents, they look like an army of Mini-Me's.

BTW, I was digging around in my garage and I found another toy skeleton! I remember having it in 1978, when I was a big KISS fan. Just added it to my skeleton article.

Very nice! Love the jiggler that is based on The Forgotten Prisoner of Castle Mare Aurora model kit.

I have no idea where they came from, but my grandmother had two small, plastic toy skeletons in her box of "trinkets" that was full of Cracker Jack and gumball premiums. Some of those things dated back to the 40s through the early 70s, from my mom and uncle through my cousins. But the two skeletons were red and blue, and I got a lot of play mileage out of those, for some reason!

Yup, I agree completely that the skeleton jiggler was based on the Aurora model kit.

You know, when we were kids, we used to pronounce it "Cassel-Mare" (mare, like a horse)

It was only recently when I noticed the accent mark, and realized that the intended pronunciation was "Cass-Tell Mar-Ray" and it meant "Sea Castle"!
