    Lego Kidsfest

Our daughter Dani has recently become obsessed with all things Lego...and I couldn't be happier! Lego Kidsfest came to Louisville this weekend, so we made the trip and had a blast.

Lots of very fun Lego-centric activities, which includes LOTS of building! Now, you don't get to keep what you've built, BUT, many of the stations give away prizes to everyone, so Dani came away with lots of free Lego swag.

There's an offical Lego Store booth and another booth selling Lego-related merchandise.

And of course, tons of great displays and custom Lego statues of favorite characters.

If you have kids, or are just nuts about Lego, this is more than worth your time and money to check out! Highly recommended!

Great pics! Looks like your family had a great time!

Lego Kids Fest came to town last year and it was crazy fun. It really encourages "play"... We could have spent the entire weekend there.

My one recommendation: if it is coming to your area, get tickets early. It sold out both times it came to Richmond.

^Yeah, they really control the number of people in each session. We never felt like crowds were too big to jump in and do an activity.

Looks like you guys had a blast! Love the Star Wars tees. I can't believe Andrew's gotten so big! Wasn't it just yesterday he was sporting that Robin costume? And Dani's growing to be a beautiful young lady.

^Yeah, he's WAY taller than me now! Somehow my kids turned out handsome and pretty. It's all Cindy's DNA, for sure.

My family loved this as well. The last time we went there was a bridge building contest to see whose could hold the most weight. There was also a ton of the Bionicle/Hero Factory stuff which I really like. We got some great pics too.

^Yeah, they had the bridge contest. Dani's group did pretty well. Everyone got these cool Ninjago flying whirly-gig things as prizes.

Wow Chris, I can't believe how big your kids are, I remember Austin threatening to steal your baby at Mego Meet so many years ago!

Yeah Dave, it's been WAY too long since we made a Mego Meet. Time does indeed fly.

wow... very cool. In our neck of the woods here in Canada, we've got Brick Fete. It's a fan run convention, and what I love most about it is the fact that it's all about the creations. 90% of the space is given away to displaying things built by Lego fans with some merchants ringed around on the sides. Really refreshing among toy convention these days.

For the fans, by the fans.

Really neat. Looks like a great time with the family. The Lego bug got me 5 or 6 years ago when fans at Phoenix Comic Con made huge displays similar to what was shown at your fest.
