GI JOE, M.A.S.K., ROM, Visionaries and Micronauts to share same movie universe.

Hasbro to create shared movie universe with its toy brands.

Under a new deal between the studio and Hasbro's Allspark Pictures, G.I. Joe will join up with characters from the Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. and ROM brands.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I can see GI JOE and MASK working well together and Rom with the Micronauts. But I don't really see how they will be able to fit the medieval post apocalyptic Visionaries with any of them.

      I can't help thinking this isn't a good idea.

I think kids might like Rom and the Micronauts quite a bit. Personally, I really wish someone would reprint those comics in TPBs.

Hasbro combined G.I. Joe and M.A.S.K. in the toyline already, so I can dig that. V.E.N.O.M. being an arm of Cobra makes a lot of sense.

                But.....AVENGERS!

Some of it could work I guess, I just don't have any faith in Hasbro stuff. How they botched GI Joe was so weird.

And don't forget what they did to Jem. That was a disaster.

The second GI Joe film isn't bad...but it's odd because it's a better sequel to a movie that is barely GI Joe in any way shape or form, and so it doesn't earn it when it turns everything on it's head.

The Transformers movies are popcorn flicks you forget the moment you step out of the theater. The designs are over-convoluted and ugly, and other than Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, the characters all look the same to me.

I'd love to see someone do M.A.S.K. as a fun, mock-80s action movie with lots of comedy and a light feel. But that ain't gonna happen.

I'm not a RAH collector or raving fan but I could not get over the fact that they took something so marketable and just....destroyed it with that first movie. I tried to get into the second and yeah, it looked better but I think it still had some baggage.

I lasted five minutes into one of these films, just not for me. I know plenty of TF fans, not a single one likes these movies yet they make billions. I don't quite understand that one. Either the brand is insanely strong or people will watch anything, I dunno.

M.A.S.K is a terrific concept for a movie and yeah, it could be a lot of fun, even poke fun at the genre. However, I picture black stealth armour and over the top CGI....

Yeah that may have been some of the poorest decision making on record.

It's fair to say a faithful adaptation would have done better.

I have to respectfully disagree with that. It's really, really, really bad. They start off the movie by killing the entire JOE team just so the Rock can have more screen time. The entire team. I mean they are all dead but four people and the only one they even cared about getting killed was Duke. Scarlett didn't even get a mention.

The only things the movie did right was fix Snake Eyes weird mouth mask from the first movie and put Cobra Commander in a uniform that resembled the original.

I mean yeah it's not as terrible as the first one. But being slightly less terrible is not exactly high praise.

I hope the next one starts over and just ignores these two. There's really no way they can't reboot now with everyone dead.

                            I'm a big G1 Transformers fan and I can't stand those movies.
