    1/6 Scale MAGNETO!! DOFP

Man, I love that the "Bootlegger's" are giving Hot Toys some trouble! This Magneto is AWESOME! The likeness is "spot on!" And the price at $180 is what HT use to be like. I've got to own this figure!

As an unlicensed piece, I'd expect the price to be less than what HT charges. Personally, though, I have no interest in supporting bootleggers.

By continually upping their prices...Hot Toys creates "Bootleggers," I'm all for it! What about us Mego customizer's that make customs of licensed characters and sell them on eBay...aren't WE Bootleggers??

These guys are producing a factory made figure in quantity and taking pre-orders.
That's not the same as someone selling a hand made one-of-a-kind custom.

Good point. But I still say Hot toys are pricing themselves so high, that bootlegger's are the symptom. Now that HT has decided to make all their NEW Ironman figures Die-cast...who can afford them at $349.99 a pop?

I would like to see that level of sculpting in 1:9 scale. The head is gorgeous!

I love the detailing of the armor, gauntlets, cape and boots. The helmet is a bit boring, though.

I agree Hot Toys needs competition because they are absolutely mugging people with their prices. I don't agree with bootlegging in principle, but as Bat stated, it's symptomatic to the strangle hold Hot Toys has on high-end customers who have limited options. They can defeat most of these offers by doing one thing... Be more price competitive.

That is why HT started out with making sculpts of figures that didn't look exactly right. The face sculpts came close, but not close enough to have to pay an actor for his likeness. The first HT, Kyle Reese and Aliens Drake are good examples of this.
