    Star Trek's 50th

So what are we getting to celebrate the greatest TV show ever?
Any news on what's in store for 2016?

Diamond is re-releasing some figures, which doesn't really feel that much of a celebration.

It kind of feels that ST collecting is just about dead...

It is...which is really, really sad. There have been several attempts at truly beautiful lines of collectibles, such as the Titan Merchandising busts and the Diamond Select dioramas that have fizzled out after a couple releases and been cancelled. The interest just isn't there anymore. I never thought that would ever happen. The original series isn't even shown on television anymore.

its not on tv anymore because CBS makes more money on it selling it to streaming services like Netflix and Amazon. Streaming has replaced syndication.

        It's on METV.

I had read Nimoy's death crushed most of the plans as he was the lynchpin. But the troika of Nimoy, Majel and Harve dying really hollowed out who was left. Shatner will do his own thing, as will the other three.

My friend told me there are 11 inch figures coming out from Moebius Models Kirk and Spock Pics looked pretty good for first time figures. I'll try to find them again and post them

Mezco announced at SDCC that they were doing Kirk and Spock in the 1:12 scale, but had no prototypes to offer yet. They did such a great job with Batman Dark Knight Returns that I'm optimistic.

I didn't think the Titan busts or the Diamond Dioramas were particularly good. I have enough so-so likenesses of the characters now, what I want is some higher end stuff like Hot Toys, Sideshow or Tweeterhead offers.

Having said that, some new characters from Diamond in the Remego format would also get more of my money and display space.

It just seems like every line that comes out can't get past Kirk and Spock before dying off.

which is only over the air so, not so many people get it. I won't be able to unless I get an antenna tower, so I stram it instead on Netflix commercial free for 8 bucks a month.

I have Time-Warner and they have all the retro channels -Me, Antenna, PB&J (somewhere) , and a number of others. They're even available via the TWC app.

That's true. Moebius is calling them 1/6 scale, but they are out of scale and smaller than that, unfortunately. The Spock looks much better than Kirk (which is typically the case), and I'm really torn on them--if they were truly 1/6 I'd be all over them, no question.

The Moebius ones are, again, close but no cigar. Kirk looks a bit off.
I don't care if they're only 11 inch. As I keep telling my wife, that's more than enough...
