    [/QUOTE]

It's so interesting to see these side by side. I mean, they all look like Harrison Ford, yet there are subtle differences that also make them look different.

I prefer the Medicom. I think it's the expression I like. I don't like the pieces of hair falling over his forehead tho.

I also prefer the first version of the Hot Toys sculpt to the new version. Again, it's the expression. I think the new hair is better.

Funny thing is: They all look great! I would be happy to display any of them.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Well, it's still not cheap, otherwise I'd have it already.
Personally, it doesn't always have to be a photo accurate likeness. I still see it as a toy, and therefore I can happily accept a more "toy-like" sculpt. The Medicom is good enough for me. Also, I have moral objections to HT's prices...

I also wonder: HT has changed the headsculpt for Solo. What if you pre-ordered, and actually wanted the first sculpt? Is it included?

Now that is a very good question. I would say probably not, since I believe every HT release photo says "prototype" until the actual product comes out.

My wife just bought it for me for my Birthday! It was $102.00.(Amazon), I immediately ordered a HT narrow shoulder body and a BBI G-3 neck post which is what you need to switch over a head from Medicom to a HT body..
TotaL =$133.00 for a figure I really like a LOT. Good deal in my book. I very happy!

As an outside observer, the Medicom one looks like a high-end action figure. It's definitely Ford as Solo. The first Han sculpt by Hot Toys looks like someone else...Eric Bana? I'm not sure. The new one is much better, but the eyes seem a bit big? It might be that it's just sitting on a stick. On a body, it may totally take care of that. Either way, to me, if you're going to pay $200, go with the Hot Toys "lifelike" sculpt. The Medicom looks like about an $80 toy sculpt. Not a thing wrong with that, but if they are asking the same price, go HT all the way. But that's just me.

And yes, that old Kenner 12" Han nailed Ford in that format.

Just looking at the Amazon pics and comparing the two in that more fair/equal "battlefield"?

The $100 Han wins over the $400 one as far as face sculpts are concerned....

At that kinda price, and that kinda disparity---it's kinda embarrassing for Hot Toys.

I still like the Kotobukiya set I bought years ago:

                              kotobukiya_Han_Solo11.jpg

I paid $70 for the set of two, they're about 1/6 scale, and I like the pose.
