After buying the first few DC 12" releases from Sideshow, I decided the quality just wasn't there to justify $200+ a figure, and I sold the ones I had. The Green Lantern they have up for pre-order is laughable, IMO, the DC Direct 13" figure looks much better.
Concerning their Marvel line, Deadpool doesn't interest me in the least, so there's no way I'd ever spend $230 on a figure of him. Wolverine likewise. If they ever do a Captain America, and don't take too many liberties with the costume "interpretation", I'd consider buying that figure. But not too many others. -
I remember 15 years ago Sideshow 12" Universal Monsters and James Bond cloth costumed figures were only $40 each! Beginning in 2006 Sideshow 12" Star Wars were $50! ^sigh*
If Sideshow 12" DC and Marvel were these prices I'd buy every one! $220 for Green Lantern! You are right DC Direct 13" Green Lantern is much better! 2006 GL was $60 and 2008 GL Corps 4 heads was $100!Comment

That said, Sideshow lost me when they released that puny comic Superman figure, with its multiple flaws, and charged $200 for it. I don't expect much from their Marvel line. $230 for Deadpool? Really?Comment

A year ago there were 2 MAJOR Marvel figures DREAMS for me CRUSHED!
1. The $80 DST EMCE Mego 8" Marvel sets- 1 retro figure + 2 more costumes/heads that are not selling, poor QC, few releases, and Thor next set not until Nov/Dec 2015!
2. Sideshow 1/6 Marvel figures announced at SDCC 2014 and a year later only Deadpool for pre-order at $230! nuff saidComment

One of the things I don't like about Sideshow's comic stuff is they always make their own interpretation of characters instead of how they actually appeared.

I think the price range is out of sorts with the product interpretation here. When you eclipse the $200 mark, most consumers are after a specific realism that often comes from actor likeness in a film. It's my feeling that once you leave that interpretation and chase after a more comic related interpretation, you cease to capture a "realism", rendering the product more toyetic and less desirable at that price point. Case in point, the DC Direct figures in 13 inch scale definitely captured a comic feel, but their price points were more in the $70 to $80 range. I liked them personally and while I picked up most of mine for $35 to $40, I thought in general they did a good job and the price was fairly good for what they were. But even at that level, they only sustained market interest for a short span of time. I don't see these figures having any great value at these prices.Comment

I wonder since only Deadpool has gone up for pre-order since Sideshow 1/6 Marvel figures were announced a YEAR ago at 2014 SDCC that ANOTHER COMPANY has acquired the license?
I hope we find out at SDCC in 10 days! SOME NEW scale of AFFORDABLE cloth-costumed Marvel figures!Comment

Dunno. I heard they were reworking the torso from the Sideshow boards. Maybe they will have a date for the Wolverine next week? It'll probably similar to the Deadpool figure. $229.99?Comment
