Anyone else collecting the new Star Wars Hot Wheels?

Just picked these up the other day. First HW set I've ever really collected. I was inspired by HardyGirl's fun Hot Wheels thread and I have a weakness for classic Trilogy SW stuff.

I'm generally not too into diecast cars but these character cars are actually pretty cool. I also have to give Mattel credit on the package art. It's really nicely done. Terrific character art. It really pops on the store shelf in comparison to Hasbro's bland Black Series or cluttered Saga Legends cards.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I saw the Star TREK Hot wheels on the peg at Wal Mart. Uhura. The card art is very retro with the Gold Key logo. I think TREK wins on the packaging. The Star WARS card art is a bit too modern computer painted for my taste. But I'm not collecting any Hot Wheels, period. HW collectors can be notorious for their shenanigans. Looked like some Hot Wheels collector purposely bent the card.

I've not really followed Hot Wheels collecting but I do know they can get a little nutty over the chase cars. Treasure Hunt, I think they are called.

I saw the Trek ones. The retro card art was nice. But they didn't appeal to me since they look just like regular cars but with ST graphics painted on them.

No...used to get all Star Wars swag...have totally reduced the the SW collecting to zero....Canadian market is really bad ...old items hang on pegs and with less retailers these days its a tough buy !!
        if it AIN'T a toy..I DON'T WANT IT !!!

The Trek cars appeared ONCE here and only at Target. I still need Spock for a friend of mine. I do like the Wars cars. Very well thought out in the details like Vaders helmet and Chewies crossbow.
