Great toy---but for that money---I've seen better Ford likenesses in past figures. Too bad---cause OTHERWISE, it looks great."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix -
That may be true but I've seen a notable few better than THIS particular likeness.
Head sculptors have been getting so much progressively better with Ford's likeness over the years that I really don't buy the "tough to get his likeness in a sculpt" excuse anymore---not for this price.
Heck, I have an 8-inch custom Mego made by a Museum member with a better Ford likeness than this Sideshow one."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I'm done with these insane prices. Sideshow should see a good shrink about all this...
And even though I like their first entry in this "Cult Heroes" series, the Snake Plissken figure has some annoying defects. So I'm careful about pre-ordering any new figures from Sideshow.
On top of that, you get Indy from Temple of Doom (not my favorite), so no trademark jacket. You'll also see that knee joint right through the hole in his pants, which I don't like.
So I guess this is an easy "no thanks"..

Looks well done, to me. However, I don't like Indiana Jones enough to pay that much for a figure of him. But, if it were an "Emergency!" figure and it was that well done, I would already have it on preorder.
- IanRampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?Comment

In a warped kind of way, their prices make sense.
Hot Toys is already asking insane prices (and it's getting worse and worse). Their Ben Kenobi ("guy in a dress") costs something like $250, right?
So Sideshow (Robin to HT's Batman), must surely follow.
But unfortunately, Sideshow drops the ball from time to time. Snake Plissken has issues: a jacket that's not right (both in style, and no weathering), the paint application on the weapons looks more like a Toys R Us GI Joe, the pouches all tear (I've seen stronger marshmallows), and his silencer doesn't fit the Uzi properly (at least mine doesn't). His boots have hardly any paint detail.
I'm keeping him just because I really wanted a Snake since childhood. He should have been perfect, especially after all the delays in the pre-order. But he's not.
He's ok, but at these prices, that is not good enough.
And HT does the same thing. Their Han Solo just doesn't look right.
To finish, isn't there a huge rise in price between their Plissken and Indy? I just don't get it..

Sideshow's sculpts and paint have seriously progressed with the last few figures, especially Hoth Luke and Hoth Han. I just reviewed them over the last week - here's Luke:

and here's Han:

You can find the Luke review here: http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_040315a.htm
and the Han review here: http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_040615a.htm
They included an unhelmeted head sculpt with both of these too - at least with the exclusives - and they really do look far better than any we've gotten in the past for these two characters, including those from Hot Toys. That bodes well for the Sideshow Indy, but I'm hoping it gets tweaked from those prototype shots. It's not quite there yet, and they raised the price between the Hoth figures and the ToD indy once again.Comment
