    Flash and Arrow ReAction figures

Man, I hate to keep being Captain Bringdown on these, but although some of the Arrow figures look decent, Flash and Captain Cold look bad from here at least. Grant Gustin is thin, but he looks like a skeleton with a hydrocephalic skull here. Captain Cold doesn't even have his winter coat with fur lining? He could literally be anyone. Reverse Flash isn't bad.

Their POP figures look much better, by comparison:

Nothing about POP figures looks better, IMO. I hate hate HATE that superdeformed junk. I have never understood their appeal. I mean, some of them don't even have mouths! They look like dog toys. I just don't get it.
Agree about the ReAction Captain Cold though, but Flash looks okay to me.

Like them or not, the POP figure designs are well done, and they are fairly consistent. I think Funko really needs to get past "Retro = Bad". Black Canary and Dark Archer look really nice, but Deathstroke looks like a bobble head. Arrow is passable, but boring, especially for the title character.

Maybe these will look better in person, but I wish BBT or Zica were putting these out in this scale.

I can't understand how pop vinyls caught on, but what do I know?

Those are fun. It's nice to finally see superhero programming with direct merchandise! What a concept!!

Well I think they are stupid. It's like bobble heads without the bobble, and I never liked those either.

I guess I'm alone in finding most of these figures ugly. Oh well. I appreciate their existence, but their execution doesn't say "retro", but just "bad" to me for the most part. But if you guys like 'em, have at 'em.

I think I am going to wait until I actually see the ReAction figures to make my call. These could be prototype images and they could turn out better. If not than I could pass of them. My problems are:

Reverse Flash paint job is sloppy

Captain Cold is just not right

Arrow I will need to add a mask

I'm pretty outspoken about the Funko stuff but I don't hate the Flash and Reverse Flash. Captain Cold is a mess however, if you take him off the card best to put a post it note saying "Captain Cold" so you remember who it is.

Never understood the allure the pop vinyl. I know it's a clever way to avoid likeness rights but it's just so....phoned in. I must be in the minority because I see warehouses of figures at every toy and comic show I go to.

Having said that, even the Flash and Arrow ones look better than most.

^Some knee articulation on those two would really be welcome as well. I'm thinking of the ZICA SMDM figures, which I've been spoiled by.

I really love the Universal Monsters overall, and the Nightmare Before Christmas figures are surprisingly nice. I wish the line was more consistent.

                            Yes! So much this.

I love Kenner. They made so many of my favorite toys as a kid.

I really like the idea of Kenner style figures but I am beyond tired of their apparent mindset that Kenner means intentionally poor sculpts and likenesses slapped on any random license they can get.

To be fair, some of Kenner's early SW figures didn't have the best sculpts. But they still retain a innocence and charm because they were not bad on purpose. They were rushed for time in the earliest waves and didn't always have access to full pictures of the characters and had to fill in the blanks with artistic license, like with the cantina aliens.

Kenner means classic SW toys but they also did Indiana Jones, MASK, Real Ghostbusters, Silverhawks, Super Powers, etc. I actually think it's a hugely missed opportunity they didn't do the DC figures in more of a Super Powers style.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
