    Toy Fair 2015 disappointments?

Not a lot of retro love for Strawberry Shortcake's 35th anniversary this year. The 1980 reissue rag doll is really nice. But it is still a shame that's all there is for classic fans.

After all the rumors and Matt Trakker supposedly being in GI JOE 3, no MASK toys was real bummer. Hopefully something will still be revealed at comic con and be released this fall in time for the 30th anniversary this year.

I was also surprised Hasbro didn't show any Jem dolls for the movie that's coming out in Oct. I mean, yeah, the movie looks horrible. But it pretty much exists just to sell toys.

No Rainbow Brite toys for the new cartoon kinda surprised me. The new cartoon is fun and the designs are classic enough to appeal to original fans. I would have bought them.

80s lines like Silverhawks and Sectaurs would have been super cool. But I, honestly, can't be too upset about because I didn't really expect any. Disappointed, yes. But not really surprised.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I'm mainly disappointed that I don't have enough space and money to buy all this stuff! LOL

Jumbo Secret Wars and Super Powers? Super Powers statues? Super Friends and Scooby Doo Megos? Avengers? Ant-Man?
Marvel Legends? Neca Reeve Superman and more Apes?! A new Transformers Devastator?!! ReAction classic Star Trek?!!

My head practically exploded last week!

absolutely nothing GI Joe wise. Even the wannabe 4 inch figures got no love.

Mattel barely refreshing their Batman '66 line, and general lack of doing anything with the DC license beyond Arkham games and their made-up Batman line. I really wish Hasbro would get this license back. They squandered it in the late 90s and early 00s, but they've done some really nice stuff with Marvel. DC's shelf-space at retail is pathetic these days.

Yeah, Mattel seems to just be going through the motions with its DC license.

The same thing disappoints me every year. There's virtually nothing truly new or unique revealed. Where's the Big Jims and Johnny Wests of the modern era? Everything , and this year more so than ever, is licensed from other media. Star Wars, Marvel, and DC mostly.
This isn't a rant against licensed properties. I love them as much as the next person. I just wish kids today had the variety we had in the "old" days

I thought Gentle Giant would announce a 6-inch Star Wars jumbo vintage line :( Also, I see Funko is adding Sesame Street to their "I can't believe this line exists and at such magnitude POP!"-line. On that note, I'm disappointed they aren't releasing any Sesame Street characters in a more "normal" format.

I was hoping that Mattel would have shown some good DC Figures, but even after ToyGuru has left they still cannot get back on the ball and release good figures.

I have zero interest in overpriced collector's club stuff or 4 inch. I still can't believe they totally blew off Joe's 50th last year.

My enthusiasm is fueled only by FTC/CTVT and EMCE/DST retro figures offering these days. Everything else is non-existing!

My GOODness. Really? ToyGuru was so underrated by the geek culture who would throw everything they didn't like about the juggernaut known as "Mattel" on him, one small guy with one very visible job. I'm happy for him that, even though some will still mud-sling after he left, he has escaped being so visible in relation to a "big fish" of a company like Mattel. He doesn't deserve the bull he's gotten, plain and simple.

As far as Mattel and DC? Who needs 'em.

Even without buying the much celebrated 'round here FTC product, there's tons of great DC figures coming from DC Collectibles (Batman Animated Series and Icons to name a couple), plus those cool ArtFX Super Powers statues... and, I'm sure a LOT more.
