Of course you've got to get a few things wrong to make it feel retro. Like Kenner used to always give Luke Skywalker the wrong color of lightsaber. So Funko may very well be doing it on purpose.

All of the humans look like they stepped out of Daria. I worked on the show and it just screams the animation style to me.

I was in TRU over the weekend and found Trek figures. They had Uhura, Sulu, McCoy, and 3 Spock. I got Uhura and Sulu. Was going back this morning for more but TRU wasn't open yet so I went to Target next door to see what Marvel they had. When I went around the end cap I found Trek. They had Uhura, Sulu, McCoy and 3 Spock. Based on this, I think that is the case assortment. This means the case assortment for the second wave will probably be Scotty, Gorn, Vina, and 3 Kirk.

Here are my Universal Monsters. I am just missing the "Invisible" Man now, or maybe not?

Here are the first 4 Trek figures (without accessories).

Here is a comparison shot with a Mego Decker, a Galoob Data, and a pvc Klingon figurine. Note the similarities in proportion between the Funko figures and the Klingon. I thought they looked a lot like the pvc figures. Maybe this is what Funko means by 'retro.'

Hah! I LOVE that last pic! Funko definitely has their own style, like it or not. But They mix nicely with the others. What line is that Klingon from?

I don't recall the maker. It is a solid piece pvc with the base removed. There was a Gorn, Mugatu, Talosian, Andorian, and Tellarite along with the crew. For the most part, cut off the bases and the aliens look good next to any Trek figures, especially the Talosian because they never did anything anyway, just stand around thinking a lot.

The MEGO Trek heads look too small for headswapping.

Actually, I think the Mego heads look proportionate the the Funko body. The Funko heads are a bit large.

They look pretty good to me. More like animated versions though. Are villians planned?

So what are the metal things on McCoy and Sulu's butts? Any idea?

Good call! I didn't notice it on Spock, but he has one, too. I think you're exactly right.

Still no luck at Barnes & Noble. They're obviously restocking figures, but nothing new like Trek or Big Trouble. I've been spotting Spock at TRU and Target, and some BTILC at TRU as well.

My Target had the complete Trek Wave.
