Star Wars digital release Commemorative 4 packs

These tie in with the "rumored" digital release of the SW trilogies.

Nothing terribly exciting figure wise except for Darth Maul which hasn't had a US release and what looks to be a new 5 POA Queen Amidala. The rest are all repacks and repaints.

[Edit] Amidala looks like a straight repack of Zipline Amidala from the Phantom Menace Movie Heroes line.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Hard for me to get excited over digital releases, unless they are the unaltered original trilogy, but even then, I have my Despecialized Editions on Blu.

I think people would go berserk if the classic trilogy is just the Special Editions again. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was though. On the upside, there's still the rumors of the theatrical cuts getting a Blu Ray release sometime this year. Hopefully they wont wait until 4k Blu Rays to release the unaltered classic trilogy.

I'm probably in a very small minority, but I really want the prequels in 3D Blu Ray. I mean, the conversions are all finished. Why not get back some of that investment, even if they're not going to release them theatrically.

I have mixed feelings on that, I saw The Phantom Menace 3D in the theatre and wasn't really impressed with most of the 3D effects. Post conversion 3D is really difficult to do well, but who knows, maybe the other two prequel films were converted with better success.

Dang, I'd "almost" love to buy those 5 POA figures (I love their simplifying of the more nuanced modern figs), but just can't see enough reason to pull the trigger.

Yes, I agree. The Phantom Menace conversion was lackluster. I saw a bit of AOTC at Star Wars Celebration, and it was much better. I still want 'em anyway, cause I'm a 3D junkie.
