Very Cool Figures Found at Wal Mart

photo[1].jpg I was at Wal Mart a few days ago getting some groceries etc for my wife when I decided to pop into the toy aisles. I found these 12 inch figures marked down on clearance. At first I wasn't gonna buy them but they look so darn cool I just had to. I had no idea these figures even existed. I know there is a Thor figure I do not have, are there any other ones out there ?

Hasbro made a whole bunch of those. Star Wars ones too. You are missing a couple of Spideys. I've seen a Symbiote, Iron Spider-Man, Armored Spider-man, Spider-Man 2099, Ultimate Spider-Man and Agent Venom. There are several Iron Man variants too.

I collect the SW ones. I think they are nice figures for the money.

I forgot to mention: There is also a Star Lord and Rocket Raccoon and some more coming out soon for the new Avengers movie.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I get these for my son to play with. He has cerebral palsy/autism and is very "rough" on his toys. These are durable, cheap substitutes for the MEGOs I'd love for him to play with.

I recall several more Iron Mans, Spideys, movie versions of the Avengers, and at least one more Cap. I can check his toy box.

[On a side note, I've been meaning to post a pic of my son's first MEGO that I gave him for Christmas this year. It's purely for display because he would obliterate it in no time. Still, it made me happy to see him opening it on Christmas morn. I'll post some pics later.]

Yeah, for me the box is really evocative of the feel of Megos. And the price point is terrific.

The size and the stiff posture of these reminds me a bit of the Remco Energized figures. I seem to remember one of the store chains having a Spidey/Spider-Copter combo that really reminded me of the Remco version.

Classic red and blue Spidey was the only hero one I bought. He does have a real Remco vibe.
