I've always wondered...who actually wants things like this? Is there really a segment of the collecting community that is willing to fork over $1,000 for this, just because it was recalled, due to this questionable accessory?

You can still get the whole set MIB for $40.
But, I think like a lot of "collectibles" maybe have just one item doesn't look great, but when you have lots it makes a "collection", I could see somebody having an entire collection of banned/recalled or just plain strange toys as being kinda cool.
