These things were everywhere at the show I was at today and there seemed to be a fair amount of people in a bit of a frenzy to find the one they want. I see them everywhere else--comic shop, gift shop, etc. Are they really that popular? Does anyone here collect them? It's certainly cool that they can seemingly cover every single license under the sun--Superheroes, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, I think they are moving into NFL (?) but I'm a little sick of seeing them myself.

What's your take on Funko Pop Vinyl figures?

I like them. I have a soft spot for "designer vinyl," and these things are super cute, reasonably priced, and a nice size. We have a few at my house. I'd probably have a lot more if I had less self-control. -
I mainly buy Funko's Pops for my five and eight year-old daughters. They are starting to get a size able Disney collection going. I have a few myself. I mainly like Reaction and Legacy. I'm hopeful that more of the licenses that have already got Pops will find their way in the Reaction line. I can certainly see Reaction following Pops with lots of characters showing up!Comment

I'm put off by the lack of mouths on them. I just looks weird and little creepy and they are not even consistent with it. Like in the TMNT set all four Turtles plus Splinter, Bebop and Rocksteady have mouths. But April doesn't. It's weird. If it wasn't for that I probably would have collected some of them like Original Trilogy SW and Ninja Turtles. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

We like them here at the Franklin household. Each of us has a few on our shelves. My son just got a Groot yesterday through the Disney Movie Rewards program. I myself have comic Batman and Robin, and the West and Ward versions as well.
I believe they are very popular. They are designed well, and the price of around $10 is pretty affordable compared to other similar items.

I really like them. I don't really collect them specifically, but I've picked up a few of the Superman-related characters. I also got The Hound from Game of Thrones because I think it's pretty funny they did such a cute toy of him. I want a Groot, but they are tough to find and now they're kind of nuts on eBay because no one expected Guardians of the Galaxy to be so popular.
It's amazing to me that Funko has been able to amass such an incredible library of licenses. I can't think of another company that's held as many as they have at once. My only concern for them is: what happens when people get tired of the Pop Vinyl format? They've tried other products (the papercraft, some robot type toys, and now the new cube line), but nothing else has stuck quite like the Pop ones.Comment

They're awesome. I'd buy the ones I wanted.
Wish they did Doctor Who. The Titans Vinyls are cool, though.Comment

Walmart has them up front by their baseball cards as well, and I saw GOTG ones, including Groots.
I have a few, they're ok, but I'd only collect characters I like not the line.,Last edited by johnnystorm; Aug 17, '14, 3:17 PM.Comment

There are some I do not like at all, and there are some I absolutely LOVE.
It's completely subjective to the collector and his/her personality, and I can't believe how LARGE the line is.
I only have one, as I've been unemployed for too long, and what little money I have has to go to rare, unique or one in a lifetime deals, and I'm hoping there will be enough of them I can scoop up the ones I want later.
I mean, Warcraft and Starcraft? OMG, I have to have those. My favorites are the ones based on odd creatures, as the humans just look.... kind of boring.
Nothing in the world could have stopped me from immediately buying Bumbles though, of course.

I'd like to collect the ones they've done for Pixar and some other Disney stuff for my daughter. I think they'd fit in nicely with our Vinylmation stuff as well. But,...I need to collect more stuff like I need a hole in the head.Comment

They make absolutely every license that I enjoyed as a child...WWE, G.I. Joe, '66 Batman, Star Wars...even Winnie the Pooh and Rudolph...but I haven't had that "I need these..." vibe. I like them, though.
