I think the only solution is if we all let them know there is a problem, that's it is not just one guy, and that we cannot accept this kind of problem with an expensive figure. They need to send replacements.
If hundreds of customers complain, then they have a problem, which needs fixing.
Otherwise, we'll just stop buying their product because we don't trust it anymore.

Jess had an issue with her Hot Toys Gorilla jacket. Once she got in touch with them she just needed to send back the jacket to them and they replaced it. You might want to reach out to her. Sadly, I forget her MM name.

Did you ever get this worked out Chris?
I just noticed that mine is having the same problem. I've had it for a long time now, so a replacement is probably out.
Didn't even have to touch it. It was in a plastic display case and flaked on it's own!
I couldn't even find the flakes at the bottom.
It's like a ghost came and mucked with me. :(

Nope. I was able to get the direct contact info of someone at Hot Toys, and sent them an email. They promptly asked me how I got their contact info, but never replied about my problem otherwise. Real classy.

I'm probably going to get one of those bootleg replacements at some point, but I'll be honest, this got me so disgusted, I just haven't done it yet. And it definitely cooled me on Hot Toys.

^^^ Yeah Chris. My hunger for Hot Toys figures has cooled considerably as well. Some of it has been due to a noticeable spike in the ReMego offerings, but allot of it is just a plain loss of interest in the format and the constant uptick in cost they command for their figures. Now the new trend is to double package figures so you're paying over $500. It's just gotten to be a little ridiculous. My Cap shield also suffered the same fate as yours, so that's certainly taken away my interest level in giving them two or three more bills for quality (or the lack thereof) that they no longer stand behind. Those shields should have been recalled and replaced. Clearly Hot Toys doesn't care. They got their money.

My Cap shield has finally stopped "flaking". I managed to make it look as if he slammed it against something hard. That was also my final HT purchase.
You don't pay that kind of money and then have to start worrying how it will look in a year or two.
