It's still kind of an nice homage.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

at least it's sumpt'in. It's unfortunate, the Canadian Joe Con was recently cancelled. It would have been nice to have had at least one more during the 50th anniversary year.

Not that there isn't product for hard core fans. I just helped my brother put together another glass case to display his sideshow 12" Joes, and I signed for, and payed the duty on his Cobra Commander which just arrived today via FedEx.

This year the Joe Club is doing a Man of Action repro for their (partly) free figure. I have several of their reproductions and extensions of the Adventure Team. They are quite nice and if you wait for them to go on sale at the site, they can be had cheap. Often as a sideline they'll throw another figure together as an exclusive for the show, which is in addition to the big Convention set, etc. If any of you guys are interested, keep an eye on the Joe Club Shop. They often have a few of these for sale. Once these little exclusives get on to the secondary market, they become really pricey. I really wanted a couple of these exclusives, such as the henchman figure from a few years ago, but they are too expensive on ebay now. https://www.toyarama.com/store/gi-jo...c22.php?page=3

Someone will need to do a short comic strip on the origin for this one like they did in the 70's for the original.
