    Captain Action: The Avengers

Picked up Ironman to complete the trinity. Need another body for Hawkeye but not a bad set with these three.
Iron Man's red part of his suit is a vinyl. It doesn't have much stretch and mine split at the neck getting over the shoulders. I recommend heating slightly or pre stretching a bit if you want to dress him up. The helmet and chest pieces snap together snugly and stay. The extra hands and face pieces would have put shellhead over the top.

I like the look of the Iron Man outfit, but the seam issues, paint apps, and overall fit of the outfit have been a problem for many people I correspond with as well as good friends of mine. I was lucky and got a pretty solid set myself. Overall I liked their first run of Marvel costumes. But I think CAE would be the first to agree that it took too long to complete the Hawkeye outfit. It will be interesting to see what comes of the DC line. With so much ReMego and Hot Toy product coming out this year, CA has pretty much taken a back seat on my list of watch items. They spent most of 2013 trying to get their house in order and jabbing at their fan base for asking why, so who knows what 2014 holds. If anything appears I'll certainly give it a look, but I've quit following them or listening to their empty advertising because it's just an exercise in frustration. With so much other product coming out this year, they could go belly up and no one would notice. My money is going to companies who show excitement for the craft and invite open discussion to expand their base. That's the only way you get better and grow your market share.

I had to buy a total of three Iron Man sets to cobble together one good one. Absolutely ridiculous. One suit had so many snags and pulls it should never have been put in a box. Another had terrible paint on the faceplate. The upper face paint was so thin you could see red through it, while it had paint runs around the mouth. I also had a malformed belt connector on one set and a malformed finger on one glove.

I currently have two Wolverine sets and neither are even usable. Same issues with snags, paint, and malformed pieces. Both my Hawkeye masks look like they were painted by blind old winos with the shakes.

I don't understand what the heck happened between the first and last releases. My Cap, Spider-Man, Thor and Loki sets had no issues at all. These last two sets are a mess. It's like they were made at completely different factories.

My first Captain America's chest developed an awful run while I was dressing him for the first time. My local TRU hasn't had the iron Man, but I'm looking forward to getting it. Thanks for the warnings. I'll be extra careful with it when I do finally score one.

TRU dropped the CA line. The Iron Man and Wolverine sets are sold strictly online. Supposedly CAE is going to resolicit the DC line and see if TRU will order them again. Don't hold your breath. The best deal on Iron Man and Wolverine sets is right here. Very easy to do business with.

Too bad these are no longer at TRU...it's a total quality crapshoot when ordering these online.
Forrest Gump should be the new CA spokesman.
