hot toys man of steel superman

i got mine yesterday , ,sorry for the crappy pics ,its still dark in leafy Cheshire , i think that supes make the rest look like teenagers by comparison ,in terms of height and size ,but other than the cape length i think all parts could be ported to a smaller figure or shorter ankle pegs to make him more compatible with earlier figures ,which to me is part of the fun of collecting ,spidey hanging out with supes ,thor and bats,

heres a few comparison shots to show height and size with a few hot toys figures ,flash is on a whiplash and thor on a gladiator figure ,as the ironman pics show you can fudge it with positioning ,

Aren't the height differences due to the actual actor's heights being different?
I think the figures are in true scale to each other. In real life Michael Keaton is definitely a small guy compared to Henry Cavill.

no ,i dont think so ,supes looks to be a different scale than all the figures that have come before ,even jor el ,chris reeve was 6 foot 4 ,and henry cavil is 6 foot 1 ,yet man of steel is much taller than reeve

any issues with the costume? I just got my Jor-El a few days ago and between his ankles came a clear plastic piece which I presume was to hold his legs apart. I noticed a tiny tiny piece of the blue leggings stuck to the plastic and I have since heard the horror stories about there new Spidey figure so I am a little concerned about the body suit.

Wow, those are beautiful. I really need to pick up the Reeve. Love the natural pose you have him in.

That is odd that they would make him taller. That is not a good move for them. His cape seems a bit bright too. The likeness is good though.

other than the super tight stitching ,that i split ,no its great ,my jor el had stuck to gether under the arms and at the top of the arm ,but unstuck with out damage ,supes feel different dryer almost not as rubbery anyway ,i still cant find my pliers so i thought id try supes with his dads boots on ,jor el has regular ankle pegs, ive tried to show the length difference by picturing 1 boot of each on supes ,and a sole to sole comparison ,that looks like a different scale when you compare the foot size ,not sure if it works ,you decide ,as a consequence of this i found out that the suit is held in place ,to stop it riding up and keep it taught and looking non baggy ,by a clear plastic ring on the bottom of the suit and ankle of the figure not sure the pic shows it ,but it is there ,sadly i also found out the stitching is so tight ,well it would have to be to fit so well ,that the stiches break easily ,well they did on mine anyway ,so please be careful if your going to try the peg switch

The scale is a little weird but other then that its beautiful. This is tempting for me.....

I don't care for the height at all. It's just a shame... the likeness and body are really nice, but I'd want to display him with the others, and the way he towers over Russell Crowe ruins things for me.

hi steve not sure if you can be bothered with modding a $200 figure but ,if you switch out the ankle pegs on supes to the regular short ones ,it brings him more in line to the early releases ,i couldnt find my needle nosed pliers to do the swich but giving supes his dads boots does the same reduction ,heres supes with the c reeve supes ,not perfect perhaps ,but better i think [IMG][/IMG]

You're definitely right that it's better... it's still a bit too tall, though. I can kind of understand scale problems with a $15 action figure, but not a $200 super-detailed one. Saves me some money, at least. Thanks very much for posting the pictures.

Ya those pics are not consistant scales.....plus, who cares how big the actor is. It should be how big he's supposed to be. If that was the case imagine how big Rocky and Cruise would be compared to everyone else. They film people a certain way to give the illusion. Make the toy fit the illusion.
