Does anyone remember these? They were shot in black and white like old monster movies and had actors wearing Swamp Thing and other monster outfits.

I remember those, I really liked that line. That commercial was just showing clips from the Winorski film though.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

^Yeah, that line really had a Super Powers vibe to it. For years many assumed the basic Snare Arm Swamp Thing was a resue of a discarded Super Powers sculpt, but I think that has been debunked. Either way, it was a similar aesthetic, and the fit in with the line pretty well.
I had high hopes we'd see more DC lines with Batman: The Dark Knight Collection (Kenner's Batman movie line) and this out at the same time, but alas, we didn't.

I liked this line, I remember buying piles of them for cheap at KB Toys, including a few of the "rare" Camouflage version with no green paint on his arms.
I was always hoping they'd add a John Constantine figure, but wasn't really surprised that they didn't (this was more based on the cartoon on the air at the time not the comic)Comment

2014 is the 30th anniversary of both lines. Imagine being able to expand the original lines with characters from the other company. Superhero toy collectors would go nuts over both...they would sell TONS of the things.Comment

Yeah, I'm still puzzled why someone just doesn't do a new Super Powers line proper. Use the name and the packaging and everything.
I'd forgotten about those opening credits for Return of the Swamp Thing. I think I only saw the film once. It was pretty bad, as I recall. Not that the first one was Shakespeare, but at least it tried to treat things with some amount of dignity. Plus, Adrianne Barbeau's...attributes.
