This is my concern as well. My Japanese boxed/sealed Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman are looking alright, but I've yet to see a loose one that doesn't have a cape that is all dried out/crumbled.

They look terrific, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger given the price. I'd definitely keep it sealed in package and be wary of the environment it's stored in.

I'm actually thinking that the likelihood is higher than ever given how much play the Dark Knights Returns license has been given lately in different sizes beyond the DCD series that came out a few years ago.

I own the "Hush" Jim Lee Batman and let me just say the body is TOTAL CRAP! Great head sculpt...that's the best thing I can say about it. I plan to customize him. The cape & belt should be useable(maybe, big maybe!)the boots. The stretchy costume and body I plan to throw in the trash.
