It's gorgeous, but it's too artist-specific, and it's not an artist I recognize. Although DCD's 13-inch figures weren't as detailed, the sculpts were more universal to me.

I wish Gentle Giant would do 12" jumbo Super Powers figures like their vintage Star Wars line.

I'd sell plasma and black market babies to buy those.

When I look at this figure I certainly appreciate and respect the craftsmanship, but it looks like it's demographic is for people who play the video games. That's the vibe or influence I get from it's design. While its not something I would add to my collection, I can appreciate the effort being made here to break into that market since the games are so popular. It's my initial guess this kind of look may very well trickle into what we see for Affleck as Batman in the next film. If the movies are going to finally break from the black rubber, I think the only industry research that points to a successful alternate look would be the video game designs.

It's the Batman I always wanted.
            And will probably never have...

I think that's more and more how many people know Batman these days.

As for me, I'm happy that people who like this get to order, but it's not MY Batman. I already ordered mine, with Robin, from Hot Toys. It's good that everyone gets their version made.

the batman head sculpt and cape and even the color of the cape looks a lot like a poster i remember from around the time of superman the movie ,i remember a superman and a batman poster ,it had painted artwork and a couple of comic panels at the bottom ,i think the artist was a movie poster guy who did the star wars and raiders movie posters ,Drew something or other ,im not intending any disrespect ,they were great posters ,its just his name escapes me atm lol

I know what you mean. Yeah, that was Drew Struzan who did those.

There is definitely resemblance in the shape of the ears.

I just need some yellow oval with my Batman logo, thank you.

You got him lol ,wow its even closer than i remember ,i wonder if sideshows superman resembles the Drew Struzan poster ,that was a great looking supes as well ,if i remember correctly a little Reeve a whole lot of super ,makes you wonder what if, they had of introduced bats into superman 2 or 3 ,would we have gotten a more traditional comic book batman suit like the poster suggests , over the one Tim Burton came up with 10 years later

YES!!! That's it. I love that poster, but it's a bit obscure to base an expensive figure on, IMHO.

It looks like an Adams, Bolland, Lee hybrid to me. You could sorta throw Aparo, Novick, and Newton in there, too. Of course they were all doing their take on Adams' redesign.

Since they went that route, I'd like to see the yellow oval. Maybe the will do a variant withe the oval and yellow belt with capsules rather than pouches.

If Affleck's suit looks even close to that, I'd be really pleased.

Yeessss....Yellow oval and capsule belt...would be a perfect one.......I do have this one ordered though, was going to see how the belt from the 13incher looked, and maybe make another suit and adding the other emblem
