Diamond Select Star Trek TOS Communicator

I'm looking to purchase a Diamond Select Star Trek TOS Communicator with a metal grill, but I'm getting conflicting information as to which version has the metal grill/antenna. Is it the Toys R Us version, the standard Diamond Select version, or the Entertainment Earth version? I be confused.

As far as I know, they all have metal lids. The only difference on the communicators is the voice chip phrases (one exclusive has an additional phrase)

Art Asylum - These are the closest in appearance to the actual props. With a metal grill that is an actual gold color.

DST EE Exclusive - These are the same as the Art Asylum in appearance, except that the metal grill has been plated to have a yellow chrome look. Even though it's still metal, it has a chromed plastic look to it.

Toys 'R Us Exclusive- These have a bare gold-colored, very obvious-looking, plastic grill.

I have an EE exclusive version, and I wish that I had gotten an original AA one, but it's still very nice (*and was a heck of a lot cheaper*) I do believe there may be another version in stores now, but haven't looked into it since I bought one a while back. It may just be the same as one of these.
      ALL HAIL MING!

All of the current versions sold at online retailers and TRU have a plastic grill. They switched the original metal grill versions (regular and Entertainment Earth exclusive) to plastic a couple of years ago. Your best bet is to find an original release (regular release is dark gold metal and the original EE exclusive was shiny gold metal) on ebay or at a toy show.

Hey, thanks everyone for the information. I just hit BIN on a newly listed 2007 Diamond Select/Art Asylum Communicator. The pic of the back of the box states that it has a metal grille. Pretty good deal at $59.95 with free expedited shipping.

? Where have I seen that before?
