I like it, but don't want to look at it because I can't afford it.

Yeah, the "I'm having a hard poo" face is rarely my favourite. It's very detailed though.
If Shannon had made that face in the film, I'd be more up for it. I could see the famous, opened-mouth "I WILL FIND HIM!!!" face, but I don't recall him gnashing his teeth like this.

I really think something is missing from the sculpt and I would have preferred Zod from the dream sequence when he had the the black Superman like costume, if HT makes that figure at some point I'll be all over it like white on rice

The suit and haircut look great...but the face is so contorted with that grimace it ruins the portrait for me. And Hot Toys should be absolutely FLAWLESS for the price you pay.

It is pretty bold to have an actual expression sculpted on a figure. Companies usually tend to go pretty middle of the road with their sculpts and a lot of fans whine about wanting some expressions, then when someone does it (like on Kaustic Plastik's KP02B sculpt), they don't go for it. The example I gave does look pretty goofy compared to a lot of sculpts and only works in certain posed positions, IMO, but they took a gamble and tried to give people what they said they wanted. I admire that.

I agree with this. My first thought when I saw the pic was "man they nailed the portrait".
While you may not like the expression, I don't understand how anyone can fail to see the actor's likeness in that sculpt. And I only saw the movie once, and I know I wouldn't feel comfortable stating that he never wore this expression in the film.
Sometimes I feel people knock Hot Toys products because they're pricey, and they certainly open themselves up to more scrutiny because of the price point. To each his own. Myself, I doubt I'll get this one (or Jor-El), probably just Supes.

Honestly I think much of the time, they do a spooky good job of likeness. i don't own any but i can see the appeal and why they command such a price.

In this instance, I just think they went to far with the sardonic grin. It's still a nice looking toy

I loved this when I saw it last night. Went to the Hot Toys site and looked at some of the other pictures. Just an amazing piece of work. I dont even need to know the price as it is definitely out of my range. The only figure I would spend over $100.00 on is if there was a good Nigel Terry as King Arthur figure in armor from the Excalibur movie.
