Star Wars 6 inch Black Series, I has them.

Well, Luke and Maul anyways. Found them at Target tonight.

They are way smaller than MOTUC or DC Universe. Maul is roughly the height of Robin from the Mattel Batman 1966 2 pack and Luke is a little shorter. They are both shorter than Batman. So I guess I would put them in scale with the Batman 66 line. But not DCU or Marvel Legends.

Nice sculpts and paint. Probably one of the better Luke likenesses. Lots of extra articulation like swivel ankles and double hinged knees. You can get them in a variety of action poses but the outfits on Luke and Maul don't hide the articulation well. Luke has a hinge in his neck joint he actually cant use because the sculpt blocks the range of motion. But you can still pose the head very slightly up and down because of the ball joint on top of the hinge.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I was lucky enough to find all 4 today at Target. I like them quite a bit. My only complaint, and it's minor, is that the weapons are a bit too soft and rubbery.

I'm looking forward to seeing these in the flesh. Are these a target exclusive or wide release?

I just do not see the big thing about this. It seems that they are just another round of action figures in another scale. I like the fact that the 3.75" figures can be used with other lines that size. If they wanted to put out another line they could have released them in ReMego or back to there 12" doll format. This is a pass for me.

I agree with that and Maul's removable rubber cloak hinders a lot of his articulation.

They are a wide release. Just showing up at Target and TRU first from what I've heard.

I Literally ran from the Toy Isle today ....
I can't get involved with a 90 Buck 4 figure purchase in a New Scale Collection.
... I wanted Maul and R2 Pretty Bad.
              Weapons look Mego Scale.

From what I've read, these are the next two waves

                Wave 2 (Late Fall 2013)

New Hope Han Solo (great likeness)
                Greedo
Boba Fett (Minus the carbonite Han)
                Slave Leia

                Wave 3 ( First quarter 2014)

                Luke Bespin
                New Hope Stormtrooper
                ROTS Obi Wan
ROTS Anakin (not been shown yet)

                    .
Yes! Thank you. It needed to be written. I'm glad I'm not alone on this.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Best toy line to be released since MOTUC hit the streets a few years back.

This line will be a HUGE success, and I'll be behind 'em all the way.

I've already bought 1 Fett w/Carbonite, 3 Skywalkers, 2 Mauls, 2 Sandtroopers and 2 Artoos AND made a pre-order for Wave 2 (Ep. 4 Han, Fett, Greedo & Slave Leia)

Regular Stormtroopers are in Wave 3 and I imagine that I'll buy 10 of 'em in one shot when putting in my pre-orders for that wave.

No complaints about this line whatsoever. This is the line I've been waiting for since the original line ended.

I have yet to see these in stores around me, even though they have been showing up. I plan on buying the original trilogy figures and that's it. The others (like Maul) might look good but I need to limit my spending.

Wave 2 looks like a home run to me. I have already pre-ordered it at BBTS. Will pick up Wave 3 Stormtroopers for sure.

I too have been waiting for this scale for some time. I don't collect 3 3/4 figures anymore, so these are a welcome addition.

I planned on skipping Maul until I saw a pic of the series 3 ROTS Obi Wan. Ewan McGregor's Obi Wan was one of the few positive points about the prequel movies, in my opinion. I still have ZERO interest in any Padawan versions and there is no way I'm spending $20 on a Jar Jar or rugrat Anakin. But Maul and ROTS Obi Wan, sure.

Okay... here's my take on my *own* collecting of this line...

At first I said to myself that the figures were really cool and I'd likely get only one of each because I remembered what it was like when I overbought the first time around (when the new POTF figures hit the scene in '96).

And I also said to myself, back when this line was announced, that I'd likely not get Darth Maul because I remember what a letdown ("quasi-buyer's remorse") I had when I bought a load of Phantom Menace figures... so, when I heard that the Black Series was going to be OT-heavy... I figured there'd be little chance of ANY prequel figures making it into my collection.

As you see above, my stance has changed... a lot. It's really because of the scale... and, of course, the sculpt quality...

But, more pertinently the weapons and other accessories that come with the figures are what is the real "scale-tipper" for me when it comes doubling, tripling etc. up on characters. The figures are so substantial and the figures have so many options with the cool accessories, that my Star Wars addiction has instigated buying multiples mostly so I can display them in different iterations of accessorizing.

It's so dang addictive. And as far as "army building"? I've never been one to do that all so much... but now.... I can see myself going NUTS on stormtroopers, snowtroopers, biker scouts, death star troopers and maybe a few others.

The figures are just too substantial for what they're priced for me to resist this mindset.

(I'll still be bummed if they waste too much time releasing prequel characters)
