Ladies and gentlemen...THEY HAVE ARRIVED!
So without further delay...
The packaging is great, nice retro graphics, but not quite right. I think the orange green and purple color scheme is too much. A sleeker design with the classic red and black bat-logo would've been better looking on the shelf, IMO.
NOT collector friendly. Tons of clear rubber bands and the capes are permanently attached to the backer card with those little plastic whatever they call them. Removing them leaves little holes in the capes. Also, the pre-posed climbing stance cause the usual warped limbs, but a quick blast of heat took care of it right away.
Sculpts are fantastic for this scale. Paint apps were just about perfect on my sets and they even went the extra mile differentiating between Robin's skintone and his leggings. Great poseablity and no stuck joints on either figure...just perfect! The cut of the capes is fantastic. Batman's protrudes from just under his cowl exactly as it should, while Robin's rests firmly under his collar, just as it should.
The capes also have wires in them to allow for posing...awesome addition! The only bad about the capes was a ridiculously huge tag which stuck out like a sore thumb...I'm talking two inches long on a six inch figure...yeah, I'm not kidding. I promptly cut them off both figures. The wall mountable base is really cool too, but I don't plan on using it. My Dynamic Duo will be parking their butts in that sweet looking Batmobile.
If these two are any indication of the rest of the line, Mattel hit a grand slam with these babies. If you're on the fence...don't be. GET THEM. NOW. Why are you still here? Go buy.
