    Some Captain Action news!

AFI has a nice article on the new Captain Action releases coming soon. Sounds like they are making some smart decisions, including offering only one uniform version at a time for $19.99, AND including the BAF part in each set.

Interesting. I'd still kinda prefer to not have to buy a clothed CA for every outfit I get, but $40 for a 12" figure is decent, especially with the BAF pieces included in the basic set.

Pretty cool news, but I'm bummed by no mention at all of the Red Skull set.

Red Skull has been put on the back burner, we may not see it, which is unfortunate, I wanted it myself.

These figures are bargains! These guys are putting out a pretty nice articulated 12" figure for $20, and costumes for these figures for $20 as well.

That final Iron Man and Wolverine are disappointing, for me. The IM color choices are from the movie and Wolvie is way to Jim Lee for something throwback.

They're beginning to cave to modern aesthetics. It was bound to happen when you're competing for TRU shelf-space.

^I agree about Wolverine...I thought it was too realistic looking when first revealed. It doesn't really fit in with the ones already released. And what about the Red Skull dammit?!

The mention of Top secret international characters has my ears perked up. Hoping for some Ultraman or kaiju outfits.

Mixed feelings on that interview. First I LOVE they are responding on the pricing and dialing back. Nice to see they are responsive to consumer reviews. But I'm extremely disappointed that the Iron Man/Wolverine sets have been moved back yet AGAIN. This is the fourth time and is becoming worrisome. First they were suppose to come out in January; then May; then July; and now September or perhaps the Yuletide season? Really? This is beginning to read alot like the problems that doomed the Playing Mantis series. And make no mistake. These are the same folks doing this line. Hence the name "Round 2". Delays are all part of this industry. I think we're all use to that. But when you're talking about a figure that requires costumes to breath variety and you have trouble getting two costume sets out in a year's time, you lose momentum and fall off the customer radar. So what happens is you spend alot of time talking the good talk, but never deliver on the product (like the Red Skull and the Rocketeer). And what is the point of a newly priced Captain Action figure when you don;t have new product to support it? Same company making the same mistakes. Priced too high early and production delays becoming the norm. That's what doomed Playing Mantis. And its now serving to cut the Round 2 series short. I also don't know what to think about the colors on Iron Man. That mask needs to be yellow. And I can't get the company to say whether that concept display is accurate or not with the colors. So who knows? Here we have a Iron Man movie making over $1 billion and this company can't get their product out. What a mess.

Yeah, it's been hard to maintain interest in this line with so little product coming out. I really think they need more villains too. I understand Loki was released to tie in with the Avengers, but Green Goblin would have been far more recognizable and probably a better seller. AND I'm still miffed about the Red Skull. I wanted that set soooo bad. Cap's NUMBER ONE villain gets NO toy love.
I think what they should do is release villains as build-a-costumes. For every four sets that come out do three heroes, one villain, and one build-a-villain.
As it stands now we're gonna have six heroes and Loki. BO-RING!

Yes. I felt inspired to go to their web page and rant a little. Imagine that?! Sometimes you need to send folks a wakeup call when you see cracks in the business model. They have some exciting ideas, but their execution for getting that stuff made is really becoming a problem.

If they Make a Red Skull ... He should be an Exclusive ..., or Build a Figure. Come On Man ...., Hot Toy Skulls have dropped in Price. What Kid Want a Nazi Racist Figure in Todays ways of thinking ? .... Just seeing that on a Shelf at TRU ..., could Pi$$ someone Off somehwere's ..., with how Everyone in the World *****es about Everything.

If they really wanna character that Sells ..., U gotta think Outside the Box imo sometimes.... Taskmaster, Dr. Doom and Green Goblin would all sell circles around Skull.... If they Make Hulk ...., a Big Old Nut Sacked Leader Headed Figure Would be Great imo !

Like with DC ..., Don't ever make Luthor ...., Make Bizarro ...., Make Deathstroke ..., Make a Deadshot ....

The Villian is a Tough Sell all together imo.
With Super Heroes ..., I pretty Much Collect ,... Well the Heroes.

Take a Line outside the Box for Once.... And Characters like Wolverine and Deadpool Do Sell ...., so I understand Marketing them.

But Like All these Companies ..., that Don't have Product of Characters they Have Actual Licenses for on the Shelves or a Click away from Purchases on The Net , THAT R in Theaters..., or on TV are seriously hurting themsevles. I would think someone shoulda made sure if I had a License to Ironman, You coulda Bought my Figure after your got Jazzed in the Theater...., and thought He was Kewl to boot.
