Was in Target yesterday and found the Defenders Marvel 2 packs with the comic book...I grabbed it cause the Defenders was MY comic in the day. Nice sculpt of Dr Strange and Sliver Surfer. Didn't notice a price on the peg so I go to the price scanner and scan it. I was FLOORED when I saw that it was $15.99. What the hell??!!?? Have they always been that expensive? Does anyone know where they usually get discounted to (What Store) I think it's absurd that two 3 3/4 (or are they 5 inch figures) go for 16 bucks retail.

I've boughten quite a Few of the 2 Packs .... None Recently ... with in the last 6months .... But I coulda Sworn them things started out at 12.99 or close.
I think they Priced Jumped when Singles did to 9.99 ....
I just bought a Loose Captain Britian (Lion) that was origionally Packaged witha Spiderman for like 7 Bucks on Ebay Shipped. ... If U R a Opener ..., Loose figures Might be Cheaper ...., I know Strange and Surfer can both still be had as Singles too.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

Definitely an open package person. I just wanted to put a set together and put it in my display. Have they done a Valkyrie and Hellcat? I know Hulk has been done as well as Sub Mariner, Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer, and I saw a Nighthawk the same day I saw the 2 pack. The price of the Greatest Battles/comic packs has been steadily increasing over here too.
They're currently crazy prices... like between 17 to 20 GBP.
Also found that the European versions of the TRU exclusive comic packs come with a large folded poster instead of a reprint comic book.
But did find some of the old Target exclusive 2 packs in a bargain store chain the other week.
I guess Target get rid of their surplus stock by shipping it over here to discount chains!PUNY HUMANS!Comment

I quit buying these last year due to the price increase and they were $14.99 then. I looked just the other day and they are now up to $17.99 for the 2 packs and $9.99 for single figures in my area.Comment

The new DC injustice 3.75 2 packs are worse I believe I read they ae 29.99 for the 2 pack. No thanks!

It's the typical story. Producer gets greedy on a line that sells and jacks the price up. Consumers get po'd and stop buying and line gets discontinued. Collectors take it in the butt because figures they want don't get made.It's not a doll it's an action figure.Comment

Plus, DC Direct/Collectible figures are as fragile as a bee's wings. I've had figures break while just standing on a shelf. I can't imagine how fragile the smaller sized, nimble figures would be.The new DC injustice 3.75 2 packs are worse I believe I read they ae 29.99 for the 2 pack. No thanks!
