Lego Monster Fighters getting marked down at Wal-Mart

I read over on UMA that Lego will not continue this line, and that looks to be the case. The whole line is getting marked down at our local Wal-Mart.

My son only picked up the Werewolf set. I love the boy, but he's Lego-lazy. He likes Legos, likes to look at them, but he's never gotten into the whole building thing, and I don't know why. We got him the early Lego Batman stuff, and he mostly ignored it, and NEVER took it apart to rebuild it. Loves the video games, but just can't get into the Legos. He's a straight action figure guy.

That being said, I'm tempted by these myself! It looked like a really fun line, and thankfully covered most of the main monsters.

Do you know if they have the Ghost Train or the Vampyre Hearse in stock? Those are the only two sets I need.

        Craig,

I know they do have the ghost train. I'm not sure about the hearse, but I saw the train. The woman in the dept. was taking them off the shelves and she said they were redoing the aisle, so these were going on clearance.

I'm not sure on the prices, other than the castle was going from $99.99 to $69.99. That's the set I was most impressed with, and interested in for my kids (maybe my daughter wants it!).

Great! Thanks for the info Chris. The castle set is amazing! My son and I put one together and it's by far one of the coolest sets I've seen.

Thanks for the heads up, I'd love to get the train and castle. My son is a complete Lego nut, he's more into the motorized stuff and the Technics ones, but the monster ones would be good for us both to have fun with.

In my neck of the woods the Monster Fighter line have been on clearence dating back many months ago. Some Walmarts cleared up aisle space and never got more of the same while other locations got batches well after Christmas when the Lego shelves were bare until Chima flooded in. Other stores received more and then they eventually got clearenced. I had bought the Ghost Train at one location, for example, for $54 only to later get a price adjustment by getting another Ghost Train for $25 at a different location. It was a great line, I was able to nab them all...but I wish it continued.

Was hoping to catch that price drop from 50s to 20s myself, but I was too late. Someone else around here was watching as well. All the trains were gone yesterday. Only thing left was a hearse at 25$.
