I'm all in for the CTVT line....I hope that they really come through on the quality.

On the Mattel it'll be a wait and see. Space is an issue for me so I'm not sure I can commit fully to two lines.
The potential is there for this to really be in depth but I wonder how long til we just get repaint after repaint...

Hot Toys isn't even on my radar...

I must admit, I'm more than a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of Bats '66 merchandise being released. I've been an obsessive Bats '66 fan since the show was in it's original run. I want everything. Hot Toys, Figures/CTVT, Mattel, Mezco...everything. It's going to get mighty expensive. Judging by what we've already seen, Mattel & Figures/CTVT will be producing countless variants. Just look how many variants CTVT has produced based on just four KISS characters. I've waited my entire life for Bats '66 stuff to be produced, yet nothing ever was. NOW we're being swamped with a ton of merchandise all at once, and it's almost more than I can wrap by brain around.

CTVT only. Mattel lost me completely as a customer, so I will not support them. I'm not a huge 66 fan anyway, but Mego scale figures are essential.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

CTVT has pushed out Mattel for me and I had been very excited about the matel line the chance to have a ,ego scaled adam west and burt ward is a no brainer for me. I will say I am not excited about the remego super heros if only because like the fiest several Star trek lines these are figures which are the least expensive to get vin tage ones of (especially vintage with repro gear ones) and I just bought all the mattel lines in the recent past to "show support" waiting for "new figs". I hope the line lasts long enough to see figures mego didn't make, or a titans scaled robin wouild have been cool

Just cancelled ALL Mattel 6" TV Batman figure Pre-Orders I had made. When they replied to me "Just for improvement, Can we know why you cancelled?" I replied: "Because of the new 8" & 12" Mego-like TV Batman figures from FIGURES, INC. a.k.a CTVT"... Then silence...

I mentioned this in another thread, but if the comments in this thread are any indication, Mattel just lost a huge chunk of potential customers. It probably goes without saying that most Mego collectors have some interest in super heroes, and those same collectors have some nostalgia for 66 Batman. So when a company offers THOSE characters in THAT format that we prefer, and associate the show with due to the time we were first exposed to it, the modern 6" scale falls by the wayside.

Also, I feel the 66 line, while it does have SOME universal appeal, is aimed mostly at us. I think, in a way, it was DC/WB's attempt to placate us old grumbling fanboys who don't like the New 52 modern aesthetic. And again, most of us old curmudgeons have a soft spot for the Mego format.

Mattel may regret not reviving Retro-Action for this line.

I'll bet! You could probably hear crickets chirping on their end! LOL!

I haven't been into Mattel in YEARS, not since I was an avid Barbie girl when I was around nine or so.

I'm certainly not going to waste my money on the Barbie version of Batman and Catwoman. Ken as Batman? Uh, no!

I moaned and groaned for months about there not being Mego versions of the 1966 show, at another forum, and lo and behold, we're getting them!

What would be really cool is pairing them up with all of the customs that have been done here, and comparing them.

I just hope CTVT knocks the Batman 66 figures out of the park when they're released. I don't even want to THINK about what'll happen to the boards here if everyone who cancelled their Mattel pre-orders gets steamed if CTVT drops the ball. "I coulda had a 6" Adam West Batman! WHAT WAS I THINKIN'?"

I still have nightmares from the blowback when Mattel released the Retro Superheroes:
                    "They look great!"
                    "Hey, the legs are floppy!"
"I can't find 'em on the peg at my Toys R Us!"
                    "I ordered my sets online!"
                    "Ordered online? You're a communist!"
                    "Me? A communist? Nyet!"
                    "A plague on Mattel's house! A PLAGUE, I SAY!!!"

This is why I'm playing the waiting game. I know me, I'll eventually succumb (especially if a Julie Newmar Catwoman goes on sale. Meow.), but I want to be 100% sure I won't be disappointed.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I still plan to get the 6 inch Mattel figures because they are nice figures but I am far more excited about getting the Figures Batman '66 stuff because I prefer the 8 inch cloth format. I do think it is funny how many people are cancelling orders from Mattel now after the Figures announcement last week. As many people as I have read here are cancelling orders I am sure Mattel has to be taking notice. If they do ask why and find out a big majority of the people are cancelling in favor of another company's product of the same property maybe they will finally see they made a mistake cancelling Retro Action. I really hope Toyguru is paying attention.

In the beginning, the Mattel 66 stuff was not even on my radar. I just thought they looked horrible. Big clunky joints, bad sculpts, did not even look good to display in the package. Not a fan of the Hot Toys stuff...at all.
But, the 66 CTVT stuff has my attention! If the Joker sculpt is ANY indication of how these figures are going to look, I am in. As far as the price. I am open. When it comes to a QUALITY figure, production or custom, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

I figure the Mattel line will be small enough to collect while focusing on the retro stuff. I'm dying for a batcave though. Should done a carrying case/cave deal IMO.

CTVT is it for me with the 66 line. Hopefully, they'll make a detailed Batmobile.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I will get most of the Mattel releases, except for Batusi Batman.

CTVT Batman promises to be a great line, I can't wait!

Wouldn't the price be prohibitive though? It would cost a LOT more than just the figures.
