Brave and the Bold New 52 figures at Target!?!

    Okay, this is just ODD.

Who saw THIS coming? Mattel revives the long-dormant B&B figures, takes the holes out (finally!), gives us Flash (who barely saw release), Hal-GL, Cyborg, and Wonder Woman, but they are all "New 52" style.

I could almost expect this in the "Evergreen" Power-Attack Batman line Mattel has out, but B&B?

Target exclusives, and WW, Cyborg and beardless Aquaman are apparently giftset only.

    More here:

A blog about toy collecting, geek stuff, movies, comic books, cartoons, and my love for femme fatales like Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Posion Ivy too!

And I heard about it here:

My kids will be happy as heck. They have no interest in the crappy Batman line that's out now. We'll probably pass on the Bats and Supes, but the others will go over big. We just watched a couple of episodes last week, still a lot of love for B&B in our house.

      Not surprised. actually.

      DC/WB are pathological liars.

They claim toy lines/ shows are cancelled for really inane reasons, and most fanboy lemmings just eat it.

Look at GL:Animated and Young Justice. They were "cancelled" because of toy sales. But like B&B, the real reasons is because of New 52.

They never admit until after the fact, that the decisions made are based upon uniform of the brand. It's all calls from the marketing departments within WB. If an A&M team feels it's inhibiting to have alternate versions of a character in the marketplace, they kill it.

They're nuts. The woman running the company is out to sea and Dido is in a neck-and-neck race with Quesada for biggest BS artist. If they had a cohesive idea before starting down this path, I'd be fine with it. But, it's all being done out of fear of not being able to catch Marvel/Disney.

My whole family misses B&B. GL has filled the void somewhat, but will be gone in two weeks.

My son likes some of the "Power Attack" figures, but he bypasses most of them. The original blue Batmobile they had in the line is a very nice toy. I like the battering ram, it makes sense.

I will say that while collectors hates the holes, my kids loved them for play value. They still play with Brave and the Bold figures because of that feature while other more standard figures just sit untouched.

Yeah for anything Brave and the Bold related!

Saw the singles at Targt last week and did a triple take. Lex is also on the back but they only had Supes, Bats, Flash And Hal.

^Yep. Got the Riddler and Bruce Wayne/Batman. The line actually continued a bit after the show went off, but I think they were just padding the pegs out to hold them for the "Power Attack" line.

So, one thing I was never too sure about, how plentiful was the Flash? And did Captain Marvel (Shazam) ever get released? I've heard conflicting reports.

I never understood why they didn't re-release those in the last few waves like they did with Plastic Man.

I remember someone saying they only showed up at Mattel stores out in California. The article about these new figures doesn't consider the Flash a new character, so I'm not sure if that confirms his previous release or not.
