G.I. Joe Kre-O sets (A Real American Hero & Action Team)

As a huge fan of A Real American Hero in the '80s, I couldn't resist picking up some of Hasbro's new Kre-O G.I. Joe sets and the first wave of mini figs / kreons last week from Toys R Us.

Scarlett, Rock 'N' Roll and the two Cobra Soldiers are from the blind bags, the others came with the Battle Platform Attack set, which I had to put together first. I believe it's actually mostly recycled from last year's Battleship Kre-O line, but it's still passes pretty well for the Transportable Tactical Battle Platform of the original line (if on land this time).

Flint is from the Cobra Armored Assault set (very cool), while Snake-Eyes & Stormshadow are from the Ninja Temple Battle set (still putting these together, Checkpoint Alpha is next). With some very reasonably priced sets, a few more coming in the Fall along with wave 2 of the blind bags, I couldn't be more excited as a ARAH era Joe fan! There is a lot of faithfulness to the ARAH brand here, and a lot of thoughtfulness in the included accessories (my Quick Kick came with a Fudgee bar!).

    Everybody loves a Trouble Bubble...

A TRU exclusive line, most sets are available now on toysrus.com. And for those who are more of the Action Team era, Hasbro also managed to sneak in a fuzzy-headed Action Team Commander in wave one of the blind bags.

There is only the one AT commander at the moment. Hopefully there will be more.
I'd love to see recreations of classic AT play sets at this scale.

I want that fuzz head more than I care to admit. I saw the sets in our Toys R Us on Sunday, but no blind bagged figures. They do look very nice.

How well does the Kre-O stuff work with Lego?

kreo works just fine with Lego brand bricks. The mini- figures (they call them kreons) have a larger range of motion and are a bit more posable than your standard Lego minifig.

There is another Adventure Team member scheduled for wave 2 of the blind bags. Can't remember his name but he appears to be a slight repaint of Wave 1 AT Commander.

So you can basically have G.I. Joe and the Turtles team up and take on Cobra?(among other things.)

And throw in Spidey, bats, supes, and some transformers to spice up the battle. Good times.

No kidding. The "minifig" scale is just fantastic right now between these, Transformers, Star Wars, and the other lego properties.

I picked up 5 blind bags(thanks to codes, the ones I wanted) and three sets. The battle platform is cool, the law/order set is really great for the price and the big boat with cutter is very cool(although the building of the boat is less fun because half of it comes preassembled. Awesome line....hope it goes deep and we get a gung ho.
