Hasbro has Star Trek toy license for new Trek film but announceme for action figures.

In this review of Toy Fair, TrekMovie.com see's a glaring omission. Hasbro has the Trek movie license, (Playmates is out of the game), and that is "the" company to do the job but, "no mention of role playing toys or regular action figures/playsets/vehicles based on the new movie.". No pics, no concept art - not a peep. It seems to me there's a big missed opportunity here.

    WARNING: Possible movie spoilers!

Maybe they're waiting till it's closer to the movie release. If they don't do any action figures it will be a waste for sure. Though, Playmates really dropped the ball last time. Actually, they threw the ball in to the neighbors yard...

I'm guessing that there probably won't be action figures this time around. The last movie had a lot of figures that were peg warmers for the most part. Hasbro has enough on it's plate with Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, GI Joe, My Little Pony, etc., but maybe next year we'll get a proper shot at a continuing Star Trek line from them.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

actually, there are still trek 2009 figures warming pegs at TRU, and Job Lots in these parts. they can't give them away. it's a shame because had they made better quality figures they would have sold so much better. as was, they were clunky, poorly painted(3.75") and had crappy articulation
