My thoughts EXACTLY. I try not to weigh much on mock ups, but Round 2 doesn't seem to notice the tonal change between the helmet "iron" which is gold and the armor sleeves which are yellow. And the mach ups they did for Batman and Superman are just pics of the DC Direct figures cut up and pasted to look like an outfit. So I'm really interested to see what the actual production costume for Iron Man will look like. With it coming out in April, you would think they would have a factory sample in hand.Last edited by MIB41; Feb 12, '13, 7:31 AM.Comment

Man, I know things happen, and stuff gets delayed, but think this was a bad move on their part. So much new, good product appealing to us old guys from this Toy Fair. I hope they come out with some strong press releases before long, or their hot line is going to lose a lot of momentum, I'm afraid.

After a number of requests, Round 2 FINALLY posted a report (from someone else) about their Toy Fair set up on the company's CA Facebook page. See the link below. It appears they're still showing just the mock ups. Notice the last photo on the article though. It appears the CA figure will eventually come in more of a coffin box in the near future (unless that's just for show displays). I also think the current discount on the figures is a smart move by Round 2. Apparently some of the local stores in my area are not the only ones across the country to get hit with a substantial surplus after the holidays. And while I admire this move, I do think it's a sign they will need to start backing off that standard price of $30.00. And from a current day consumer perspective, there is still an interpretation problem occurring with the figure and separate costumes. When I was in a TRU store last week an associate saw me looking at the costumes and felt inclined to explain there is no figure included with them which has caused returns at their store. So while it's a no-brainer for us vintage collectors, it still remains a little confusing for mainstream consumers. Hence another reason to come down on the price for the stand alone figures. Perhaps they could have two price points on the figures. A $15.00 version in the coffin box and then a $30.00 version for the specialty variants. Just my thoughts.

^^^ Thanks for the info Teemu. I checked various sites and I see both April and July release dates. I have asked Round 2 to clarify this on their website. On another note, there is a new video out discussing the new product with some interesting points everyone should know (see below). The Iron Man costume set will NOT have a Tony Stark face mask that looks like Robert Downey JR. Hmmmm. Kind of begs the question...Why are they using his likeness then to pre-sale merchandise? I'm not crazy about that. It's why I say, never trust what you see from these mock ups. Plus he calls them "production samples" which they are not. It's more packaging representation than product preview. They have also confirmed there will be a coffin box version of Cap. Hopefully, with a adjusted price to go with it. So a few eye brow raising moments in this interview.

I've seen a picture of the concept design coffin box, so that looks like something that's going to happen.Comment
