Hasbro's pre-Toy Fair announcements has me excited and cautiously optimistic for SW for the first time in several years. First of all, with the cancellation of the 3D releases of the remaining prequel movies, I'm hoping there won't be such a heavy focus on the prequels. I've had it up to HERE with seeing nothing but Phantom Menace peg warmers the last couple of years. I'm looking at you Jar Jar, young Obi, Anakin, Qui Gon and Yoda.
I'm personally not sold on the new 6 inch scale but I hope for the best for it.
I'm glad to hear the 3 3/4 inch vintage style line will carry on in the collector aimed Black Series. I'm hoping for new versions of classic trilogy characters but I think this just where the planned Droid Factory figures will end up. The only Droid Factory figure that really interested me was Yavin Luke.
I have the highest hope the new 5 points of articulation "budget" line. It would be nice to see SW figures get back down to $5 to $6 and I'm totally good with 5 points of articulation if we get more figures like that fantastic Battle Pack Bespin Luke with retro yellow Kenner hair. I would love to see updates of the first 21 Kenner SW figures done in the style of that Bespin Luke. That would be beyond cool. But my fear is the line will be nothing but neon repaints of Anakin, Clone Troopers, Yoda and young Obi with large clip on accessories.
