I enjoyed your podcast. Engaging discussion and fun to listen. With regards to the next Star Wars film, the first thing everyone will have to adjust to is NOT seeing the 20th Century Fox logo with that heavy drum and percussion intro. Now we'll get fireworks over the Disney Castle. I imagine that will rub some diehards the wrong way before the story even gets started. And then we're also likely to get the next complaint on the story which suggests "that is not what George would have wanted." Personally I think the franchise can ONLY go up from the painfully unoriginal and predictable doldrums of the prequels. But I truly believe the first film will suffer some growing pains as diehards have to adjust to a different mood and story telling that is not part of the past celebration or pageantry of the Star Wars experience. It will get tweaked. But I think for the best. I believe Abrams will bring the magic back to a series that has seen it's films go from being an event in the 70's and 80's to a nostalgia romp with the prequels that barely shadows it's predecessors. Hopefully the Star Wars name can return to prominence once more. Once again, great podcast. Hope to hear more!

Thanks so much for the feedback. First time podcast so It's quite a learning experience. I agree with your thoughts on JJ. We should have a new episode out right after NYC Toy Fair.

      Thanks again.

Great! I'm listening to it right now. Hey can anyone at the show confirm if Round 2 is showing production pieces of the next costume sets for Captain Action? Or if there is any newly announced product? Nothing seems to be coming out from them and that's frustrating on this end. We need a spy!!

The two finger proctology hand? Classic. Some interesting revelations on this podcast. I didn't know Hasbro had a poor seller with Phantom Menace. In retrospect it's easy to see why today. But I would have thought any toy made during the time of it's release would have been a hot property. I agree the 2013 toy line is a bit redundant with yet another rehash of existing lines. I also noticed they're doing another Anakin-to-Darth figure in the 12 inch scale, trading in the clothes for a sound bite buried in a blow mold body with limited articulation. And speaking of the 12 inch figures... What is up with Hasbro's sudden cheapy figures in the coffin boxes? We already have one out of Spidey, Iron Man, and now Star Wars? Jeez. I think they hurt the whole license when they get that cheap in production. I can't imagine what market they're aiming for there. With that being said, I do hope Disney doesn't go into overkill with their recent purchase of the Star Wars franchise. I sometimes wonder if Lucas feels he has squeezed everything he can out of it and that is why he is selling it before anyone realizes the market (and demand) has dried up. I'm also concerned with Disney going outside the main narrative of the next trilogy and making stand alone films on previous characters. There's something to be said for films in a series being away for a few years. It allows interest to build back. If Disney starts making films that come every other year, I'm afraid that will burn out even the most diehard of fans. As established and storied a license as this is, I do think we are embarking on a new frontier as far as where this goes and what can happen.

I'm totally good with the Kenner style 5 points figures and I think the sculpts are fine. Hasbro's insistance of still flooding the store shelves with their Attack of the Clones 3D figures (even though Disney cancelled the movie) is what it is frustrating for me.

I would have been all over classic trilogy figures in that style. I understand the heavy focus on the prequels wasn't their fault or their choice and was a Lucasfilm mandate from Lucas himself. And I also understand they were caught by surprise by the Disney sale and the cancellation of AOTC 3D. The thing is they don't have to push the prequels anymore and they are shooting themselves in the foot by still going through with the AOTC product instead of trying to get some new classic trilogy product out or at least shown in the new 5 point 3 3/4 inch scale. The 3 3/4 Black series isn't that impressive. It's the same boring bunch of leftovers they've been showing us for ages. The sky is the limit for popular classic trilogy characters in the new 3 3/4 line. It could have been the rebirth of the classic Kenner line. But instead we are getting MORE prequel peg warmers.

I have seen nothing but prequel figures on the pegs for the last several years. Phantom Menace 3D was a disaster of epic scale and clogged the pegs so badly it prevented entire waves of figures from hitting retail. The stores in my area have had the same PM figures for over a year now. A year! PM3D Qui-gon, Young Anakin, Young Obi, Battle Droids, Darth Maul, Yoda are clinging to the pegs and they are still going to release more.

I even question the logic of releasing Darth Maul in the 6 inch scale. I went to a Walgreens yesterday. They had a dozen SW figures. Four PM Darth Mauls and 2 Battle Droids. The Target exclusive Clone Wars Darth Maul returns packs are moving very slowly even on heavy discount. I don't think Maul is as popular as we are made to think. I think he will be the peg warmer of the series. The 6 inch Black series should have been classic trilogy only, in my opinion.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
