    A little "joint" help...

If this is the wrong place for this thread, admins, please feel free to put it in the right place and let me know so I can learn from my errors!

As you all may (or may not) know, I'm afraid I'm something of an IRON MAN horse (without the "s"---doggone filters!) (that sounds really worse than it is). I'm really jonesing to pick up the Hasbro AVENGERS 10" Repulsor Strike IRON MAN figure to do some modifications (and possibly some casting for other purposes) on before they completely vanish off store shelves. I came really close last night to buying a couple at TARGET last night, but, upon further examination, I noticed that, while the figure's legs, neck and shoulders ARE jointed, his elbows are NOT. Wondering if any of you fine customizers out there knew if it were possible to take a toy like that and modify it so that the elbows can be jointed. Any info y'all could provide would be great appreciated! Thanks!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Before I say this, keep in mind I have not done this or even attempted anything like it. But, I would think it should be possible. If it were me, I might try to very carefully cut the arms with a jig saw (or something similar - a dremel might even work if you are skilled with it). I would not cut them straight away, but I would cut in a way that mimics the design of articulated figures. You could then drill a hole straight through and place a pin of some sort in. This may leave the elbow bending both ways (unless you come up with a method to cut leaving something of an elbow to "stop" the arm from going further back) in which case a stopper of some sort would need to be placed on the back to allow the arm to only bend the one way.

I hope that makes sense. I can see it in my head, but trying to relate it in text is difficult. Good luck!
      Looking for:

--Lion Rock "Mr Rock's" shoes/ boots (these may also be the same as the lion rock monster line boots)

      --Mystery Astronaught

It is.... stuff like this is ALWAYS possible.... but it wouldn't be easy.
