My son bought the new Amazing Spider-Man (movie) Diamond Select 7" figure at the Disney Store last night. It comes packaged with a Peter Parker head and hands, and Spider-Man head and hands. He took off the Parker head and put on the Spidey head. When he went to change them back again, the post the head sits on came out. The post is too balls on a stem, same on both ends. I figured, just pop it back in. Nope. Just forcing the post in won't work. So I heated the neck up, and pushed the post in. I waited an hour for the neck to cool down, thinking the neck would "catch" the post, and the head would pop off fine. Nope. The post STILL comes out with the head! So I heated the head up and got the post out, thinking maybe if put the post in, and then put the head on and waited a bit, I could work the head off. NOPE.
I'm thinking of gluing the post into the neck, which would still allow the heads to be swappable, but I'm afraid it may just snap off with the amount of force it takes to get the head off. I also considered drilling the wholes in each head out a bit. But I'm concerned I'll go too far and make it unusable.
My problem is, I need the neck hole to hold the post tighter, and the hole in the head to hold it more loosely, so he can swap the heads in and out when he wants.
Any suggestions?
Chris
