I thought I might stop collecting modern GI JOE, but when I saw these at Target this morning I had to pick them up. Does anyone else plan on collecting this new movie line?
Better get 'em when you see them. With the movie pushed back to next Spring (!), Hasbro has said the initial shipment is all we'll get until around the actual release date next year.
I haven't collected RAH GI JOE since the 25th anniversary figures. The previous GI JOE movie killed my interest in the toys. That being said, the new figures look to be the nicest RAH scale Joes in years. Way better than the last movie figures and those odd looking Renegades ones.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
I think I read where stores were to return these to Hasbro for re-shipment next year, so they're probably going to disappear shortly, either by RTS or Speculators grabbing them. They might get a short term price spike which would drop when they get released again next year, unless Hasbro makes a design change for the film.
The Rock is on my shortlist of figures I would like to own...I mean Roadblock. I have to get Cobra Commander too.
The day I heard the movie got pushed back, I grabbed myself a movie poster from work to take home because it now has the "wrong" release date and I knew we'd have to throw them out.
I had a peak at these at TRU this week (and they are already on sale so soon after release). Figures look great, with cool action features... it's a real shame that the movie release was such a misfire.
