OK, I'll admit it. I got me some Hot Toys...

This weekend, I was at a convention (had a small booth), and a fellow dealer showed interest in some Action Man stuff. He asked if I wanted to trade, and he had a HT Iron Man III and a Captain America.
Goods were exchanged, and luckily I didn't have to spend any $$$.

I must admit, they are phenomenal. Iron Man looks like a million bucks!

But now I face the dilemma: once you have two Avengers....
I'm going to have to rob a little old lady to get me a Thor...

I tried to resist, the Hot toys force is just to strong

I can't decide what to get next without my wife killing me Ironman's are definitely some of the best ones out there

I was thinking of getting the Alice from Resident evil and posing her in front of my MJ zombie

I do like them a lot, but I would have to sell some vintage Megos to find a way in. Its the darkside for sure

Yeah, it's such a slippery slope... You really can't stop with just one. The wife brings one or two back from Japan every single month. Two weeks ago she came home with a Nicholson joker. Only problem is I'm almost afraid to tough them for fear of breaking something given that you can now buy a laptop computer for the price of these things.

Iron Man is super cool. He's got so many gadgets inside his armor, you just have to try them. For now, I'c be happy to eventually score a Thor. I don't need the others, though Hulk will be a thorn in my side. To think I won't be able to afford a Hulk makes me so...so angry....

I'm still waffling on the Keaton Batman. If I don't decide soon, I know I'll regret it.

I have the First Avenger Cap, but I really want that Avengers version, especially after seeing the movie. I can resist the rest of the team, but Cap is my favorite Marvel hero...

sell the first version and buy the new one there's still value there and the new one is not that expensive

I know I had to pull the trigger on the Keaton myself

I'm still debating the Joker 89 and now the Mark 1 Tony Stark 2.0

I too tried to resist Hot Toys...and Failed. I swore I would stick to, and ONLY collect 8" Mego scale figures.

I now own a HT Cap, Reeve Superman, and Spiderman. Now My friend is offering me an Ironman at a great price but I'm broke. Thinking of selling my Darth Maul custom.

I only have the Reeve Superman and Keaton Batman, and have the Avengers version of Captain America preordered. I'll probably stick the spare Steve Rogers head on a Kaustic Plastik KP01A body and kitbash a WWII soldier. Maybe try to replicate my grandpa's uniform, if I can get the right division patch at that scale.

Every few years, there's a leap forward in the level of realism and articulation in figures, but Hot Toys has taken it to such a level, I honestly don't see how any company can ever achieve anything more realistic than what Hot Toys is doing today. We might have hit the zenith of action figure quality with these guys. I think the direction in the future would be a greater variety of loose heads one can buy to make their own figures--as well as a wider range of clothing and gear beyond the standard military stuff--because how can they get better at what they're doing? I'm not sure it's possible. What was considered realistic ten years ago is cartoonish by today's standards, but how can that Cap sculpt ever be considered quaint?
