When Playing Mantis reissued the Evel Knievel cycle did you get one ?

Back in the late 90's when Playing Mantis reissued the Evel Knievel stunt cycle did you get one ?

I did ... just to open it up and play with it

I'm surprised the reissue actually goes for a few bucks today... It's one of the few reissues that's went up in value today.

Unfortunately I gave mine to my nephew and he trashed it --- BUT, he did have a good time trashing it

Opened mine as well, busted it after a few times. The handle bar snapped right off. I never liked the black gloves and boots and blue helmet with the white outfit. I was going to look for one with the blue outfit as it looked better, I never did get another one.
The BTBT ones strip their gears too easy, thus I never have run mine much.

I didn't like the suit material ... It was like mesh and gave the idea it was really cheaply made.

I got the red suit one

Unfortunately I didn't even know about it If I had I would have gotten one and played with it, it was probably one of the toy I played with the most - until it broke. Not going to pay the money to get one now.

I got the Ideal/Poof-Slinky reissue. VERY close to the Ideal original. Looks great and works like charm.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I got one, the cats go runing scared when I race it down the hallway. The quality of it is good , and love they added the booklet showing the other sets that were made back then.

My parents actually got me one for Christmas, which was really cool, as they (or Santa) got me the original back in the 70s. I opened it and my dad and played with it again.

I get it out and my kids and I play with it from time to time. One of the handle bars broke off pretty early, but other than that it has held up well.

I didn't get one, but I recall picking it up several times in stores and then making myself put it back. If my kids had been around when that was released, I would have left it in the cart.

Same here. My son busts it out once or twice a year.

i got one with a red suit, played with it with the intention of let's see how long it will take to break, still works like a champ, and the bike is intact. hate the blue helmet with stickers.

Yeah, I have one. Really disappointed w/ it too. First, Evel was too heavy; skinny arms and legs like he was supposed to, but too much weight in the body, messed up the center of gravity. The plastic gears inside didn't help either. It really didn't go too far, but it looked cool, like his trail bike. The other replica by Poof Slinky worked better, but the plastic gears strip w/ continued use. (my Daredevil set bike is useless now) Nothing beats the old school ones that still work today.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
