    12" generic Military figures

I was looking at the 12" military figures at TRU the other day, and noticed that the heads on the 2 figures they had really looked like Chritian Bale and Samuel Jackson. Are the companies making these figures actually trying to sculpt them to look like different actors, or is it just a coincidence? might make for some cool 12" cutoms, and they only cost $10 and come with a bunch of gear.

Pics? Name of the generic brand?

I think there have been many generic 1/6th scale military figures from Asia that were designed to resemble certain actors. I own a Tom Hanks probably made to cash in on Saving Private Ryan, that I turned into a custom Forrest Gump.

    (not a great pic)

I don't think TRU has generic 12 inch guys. Those guys tend to be about 10 inches. Unfortunate in most instances. Too big for Mego, too small for 1/6 scale. But let us know more about the ones you saw, maybe they are carrying new ones.

Can the 10inch heads be acetoned down to 8 inch like the playmates or is the plastic to solid?

the plastic is solid, more like hard model type plastic if it is the 10" ones I am thinking of

These were defiinitely 12", Toys R Us has a whole section of no name brand stuff that is probably there own brand, everything from pirates to military playsets. I was looking at them to possibly use as cheap alternatives to the Captain action figures if I start collecting the new CA costumes, several of these would cost the same as one CA figure.

I haven't seen 12inch military generic guys at TRU for Years. .... They do have a couple 10inchers ..., and I coulda sworn 1 of em looked like a Bale Knock Off.

well it might part of the true hero series? Those are gi joe 3 3/4" scale but I did see larger (assuming 12" I guess) versions. They also still had those 10" figures (different name) as well since I did use one of them to create a custom

I'll have to take another look next time I'm there. Because that's also where they keep the 10 inch guys from the same brand. Be nice if they actually had 12 inch stuff there. Thanks for the head's up.

I'll have to double check the scale, looked like 12" to me but I was unaware that there are 10" out there as well, but the one I saw was a dead ringer for Christian Bale.

I noticed these too. They are the 10" figures. I was trying to come up with a use for them as well but in the end I didn't buy them.
