    Modern stuff.

    Hello.
I opened my account here 2 years ago, but never posted until now.

I am 39, and I find that old stuff got the flavour of the movies, comics and in my opinion new companies only think in making action figures realistic features and with an impressive package... I find no flavour in the new things.

In Europe we saw always the U.S. Market as something from other planet... always waiting for new things.
Look at the vintage SW from Kenner or M.A.S.K. (Or Megos: Johnny Action, Eagle Force, etc) has no comparison with any modern stuff.

I remember when getting a figure that you couldn't get here in Europe was a big deal.
The SW 12 inches were rare here, with only Luke and Leia available. When I visited Wales (Bangor), I couldn't believe my eyes. Picked up Darth Vader, and all my friends came over to see it.
With the overabundance of the new product, and it all becoming so high-end, you kind of lose that feeling of "wonder" you had way back then.

Kenner's M.A.S.K. line was very cool and creative. I'm still kind of surprised Hasbro has yet to make a new M.A.S.K. toys.

Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

So far they only made one new Mask figure and it was for the GIJOE 25th Anniversary line Matt Trakker. I have him. I think they were testing the waters to see if they should do more. I think they should.

I dont understand there way of thinking now either. M.A.S.K. i think would appeal to todays audience just like the Joes. I think the way of thinking now is that if there isnt a movie or cartoon to back it up, it isnt going to succeed.
Strangely people who are younger and younger are getting interested in vintage toys so there much be something about them gets getting peoples attention. I dont like the over articulation and detail on most modern toys.

I bought that figure too. Really nice. It's a shame they didn't at least make a Miles Mayhem for Cobra too.

I think Hasbro's mind set is "We have Transformers, what do we need these for?" I might be wrong on that but that what it seems like.
